Salad Fingers is the titular protagonist of the web animated series of the same name.
He was voiced and created by British animator David Firth, who also voiced Shrimp in Smiling Friends.
Biography[]
Salad Fingers is a green humanoid living in a wasteland. Most of Salad Fingers' life is a mystery. Through his finger puppets, it seems to suggest that Salad Fingers is reliving key moments of his life through them. Despite his creepy, hunchbacked appearance, Salad Fingers is actually very friendly and soft-spoken, albeit clearly very mentally insane. He speaks in an eloquent manner and appears to be unaware that his actions could be harmful towards others.
In episode 11 of the webseries entitled Glass Brother, Salad Fingers speaks to his reflection in a puddle of water and introduces his finger puppets to it. When getting to Hubert Cumberdale, Salad Fingers decides that he had "grown up." Presumably taking scraps of skin from a cabinet, Salad Fingers sews the scraps onto Hubert Cumberdale, eventually making him a fleshy version of himself. After being tormented by his Glass Mother and Glass Brother, Salad Fingers is comforted by the New and Improved Hubert Cumberdale (the Real Boy), Glass Brother reaches through the mirror and snatches Hubert Cumberdale.
That night, Salad Fingers approaches the puddle at night and successfully enters through it (since his reflection would not be visible in the dark). Sneaking into Glass Brother's room, Salad Fingers spots Hubert Cumberdale in a jar and heads for it. As he was reaching for the jar, Glass Brother awakens and alerts Glass Mother. Noticing water drops on the floor, Salad Fingers tosses the jar holding Hubert Cumberdale hostage through it and he escapes as well. He pushes his Glass Brother's fingers back down the portal and smashes the mirror into specks of glass shards to keep Glass Mother from entering into his world. The episode concludes with Salad Fingers placing one of the remaining shards into a box, implicating that he would store it away.
