Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Samara Jalal's early life. She lived with her parents in a farm and homestead in the Urzikstan countryside. Her parents taught her how to hunt and move through the land. In 1999, then lieutenant Roman Barkov launched an annexation of Urzikstan, coordinating assaults against villages. As an act of defiance, Samara and her mother set their farm on fire rather than give Russian Soldiers food or shelter. Samara's mother was shot and killed while Samara was arrested. She was brought to The Tobrak Prison where she found other women who fought against Barkov and his armies. She met a group led by Farah Karim and began working on an escape plan, with Samara acting as their guide once they were out. However, after two years of work, Prison Guards learned about their plan and the group was separated with many of them tortured.
Samara was sent to another prison camp across Urzikstan. Still willing to fight against Barkov, Samara successfully escaped the prison camp alongside a dozen of other prisoners. Samara returned to her homestead only to find out her father died during her captivity and the farm turned into ruins. She continued to live off the land and attacked Russian Soldiers she came across. In 2009, She learned about Farah's escape from Tobrak Prison and joined the Urzikstan Liberation Force. Farah put Samara in charge of training a scouting unit. Afterwards, Samara and her unit spent the following decade relaying information to Farah. At some point, Samara met a man named Khalid with whom she had two children, Tariq and Rabia. As she wanted to raise and protect her family, Samara decided to leave the ULF.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III[]
On November 11, 2023, Samara boarded Flight 761, heading from Kastovia to Sochi in Russia. A man sitting next to her started a conversation about her family, before revealing he knew who she was and her family's details. A man then threatened Samara with a gun, forcing her to leave her seat. Russian Air Marshals noticed the terrorist and began shouting and pointing their gun at him. Whether Samara intervened or not, she was knocked out and was bought in front of Vladimir Makarov who fitted her with a bomb vest before jumping out of the plane with other members of The Konni Group. Another terrorist brought Samara before the passengers, gave her a gun and threw the phone with a timer in the hallway. As Samara rushed to get the phone, passengers stopped her, believing her to be one of the terrorists. unable to reach the phone in time, the bomb vest detonated, killing all passengers and crew before the plane crashed into Urzikstan.
Farah and Alex Keller, her second in command, rushed to the crash site to prevent Konni from planting false evidence to frame The ULF as the terrorists behind the hijack, wiping out the flight recorder in the process.
