Sammy Gutierrez is a major antagonist turned protagonist in the Jurassic Park franchise and one of the tritagonists of the DreamWorks and Netflix TV series, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

She is a camper filled with enthusiasm and one of the six campers at Camp Cretaceous who was invited there. Now stranded alongside the other five campers, she is now trying to get back home from Isla Nublar though they face many dangers along the way. Also, it is revealed that Sammy is a spy working for Mantah Corp.

She is voiced by Raini Rodriguez, who also played Trish De la Rosa in Austin and Ally.

Biography

Background

Sammy’s family owns a ranch that supplies the meat for the carnivores of Jurassic World. At an undisclosed time in the past, Sammy’s family’s ranch borrowed money from fronts for Mantah Corp. Afraid that her family would lose the ranch, she offered to act as a spy for the company after being accepted into Camp Cretaceous, and sneaking genetic samples from the dinosaurs for the company’s illicit use. Sammy was fourteen years old at the time that she was enrolled in Camp Cretaceous.

When she goes to Camp Cretaceous, Sammy meets fellow campers Darius Bowman, Brooklynn, Ben Pincus, Yasmina Fadoula, and Kenji Kon, as well as her counselors, Roxie & Dave.

• She's one of the only three antagonists in the franchise (along with Roland Tembo and Ajay Sidhu) who is not a villain, as well as having one of the best Freudian excuses among the antagonists.
• She's the second female human antagonist in the franchise, predated by Laura Sorkin and followed by Tiff.
  • However, unlike Sorkin and Tiff, Sammy is heroic and has truly relatable goals.
