Tyler, what are you doing?!
~ Sarah getting kidnapped by Tyler.
I would never get over you... ever... Sarah.
~ Tyler to Sarah before he blows her brains out.

Raquel, also known as Sarah, is the tritagonist of Tyler, The Creator's first studio album, BASTARD, a supporting character in his second studio album, GOBLIN, and the titular deuteragonist of his unreleased song, Rotten Sarah.

She is the love interest of the album's titular protagonist, Tyler, who kidnaps her after she rejected his offer to go to prom. Sarah would later be raped, murdered, cannibalised and raped again by Tyler until he shot himself once the police knocked on his door. She is based on Tyler's real life high-school crush, Raquel, who thankfully didn't meet the same morbid fate as her fictional counterpart.

She was portrayed by at-the-time Odd Future member Taco.

Biography[]

Sarah (BASTARD)[]

While Sarah is mentioned in the album's very first titular track, BASTARD, she isn't heard from until the album's twelfth track, Sarah. The track starts with Tyler asking Sarah to go to prom with him, begging her and asking her "maybe", to which she awkwardly declines over and over, and eventually insulting him by asking him how his dad is (which is a reference to his father's absence, the main theme of the album BASTARD, as the title suggests). In the song's second act, Tyler says that he wants to "tie her up and throw her in [his] basement", which transitions into the sound of an altercation between Tyler and Sarah, where she, terrified, frantically asks Tyler what he's doing before her cries are muffled as Tyler swears at her and threatens to shoot her.

Over the second half of the second act, Sarah is heard trying to bribe Tyler with her affection (to no avail), crying, choking and ultimately futilely trying to cry out for help before she's shot to death by Tyler, before going silent for the rest of the song. In the final act of the song, Tyler cannibalises and continues having sex with Sarah before blowing his brains out once the police begin knocking on the door.

Her (GOBLIN)[]

Whether this song is about the real Raquel or a prequel to Sarah is unclear. All it boils down to is Tyler expressing his affection towards a girl who sees him as a friend, but gets back with her ex boyfriend before Tyler can make his move. Tyler is depressed, but doesn't want to mope around or anything, and he lies to his friends and tells them that she moved.

Rotten Sarah (Unreleased)[]

Rotten Sarah is a direct sequel to Sarah. Tyler describes being with Sarah in the afterlife, being happy together, although this would be unlikely considering that Tyler raped, killed and ate Sarah.
