Satoko Kusagakure is the main protagonist of the 2021 dark comedy manga series A Ninja and An Assassin Under One Roof by HundredBurger and it’s 2025 anime adaptation by Studio Shaft. She is a ninja who runs away from her village after being commanded by her leader and is taken into rescue by a young assassin named Konoha Koga, who offers to let live under her roof in exchange of benefiting her assassin rankings and defending Satoko from other ninjas who are trying to hunt her down, with the ability to turn the dead that she touches into leaves.
In the anime, she was voiced by Haruna Mikawa, who also played Satsuki Amamiya in Mono.
Personality[]
Satoko is a kindhearted ninja who means well, though often finds herself in deadly situations due to the people she’s around, where his life is on the line. She has weak skills at martial arts and can be incompetent in action or airheaded into other instances, such as posting on social media that leads to Konoha’s residence getting exposed or turning her couches into leaves for practice. She knows how to do basic human skills such as cooking, cleaning, and taking care of both herself and others. She has the power to turn those who have died into leaves, though is unable to perform it on the living. Compared to Konoha, she is very kind, as evident by shielding herself to protect those she cares about in attacks, or help find the missing friend of Aoko. She also can show signs of annoyance, such as when she is replaced by a robot version from Marin that Konoha doesn’t notice the difference in.

Satoko is a fifteen year-old ninja with bright orange eyes and light purple hair, wrapped in a side ponytail with a shuriken tying it together. She wears a purple ninja outfit that consists of white lines, tied in a light orange belt while wearing a scarf of the same colors. She wears purple leggings for her legs, with light brown sandals. In her casual clothing, she often wears a shirt with a fluffy unicorn on that she got from the mall.
Trivia[]
- In the anime, her introduction scene of escaping her village was influenced by Kamui Gaiden.
- Her actress, Haruna Mikawa, also voiced her robot self, Roboko in the anime. When asked about which one she preferred playing in a radio drama promoting the series, Mikawa confirmed that she liked playing the role of regular Satoko more.
- Haruna Mikawa originally was planned to play Marin, before the author, HundredBurger, suggested her to get the part of Satoko instead.
