Scoobert "Scooby" Doo is the titular deuteragonist of the 2009 direct-to-video live-action film Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins and the titular tritagonist of its 2010 sequel Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster.
He is a talking dog who befriends a lonely teenage boy named Shaggy Rogers. He later begins solving mysteries with Shaggy and his three new school friends Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, and Velma Dinkley.
He is voiced by Frank Welker, who has also voiced the original animated incarnation of the character since 2002 and his incarnation from the 2020 theatrical film Scoob!.
Personality[]
Just like his previous incarnations he's shown to be highly cowardly and frightened like his friend shaggy, he was also seen to be Jealous in the squeal about Velma and Shaggy's relationship out of fear that he might get replaced. But later on in the film, he puts this aside as he still cares for his friends and is still brave and willing enough to fight to protect his fellow Mystery Inc. friends.
Physical Appearance[]
He is a dog with brown fur, with black spots, and tail, and wears a blue and yellow collar with SD on his tag, initials for "Scooby Doo".
Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins[]
In Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins, Scooby-Doo is first seen at the Coolsville pet fair. After jumping on someone trying to adopt him, he is taken on a truck ride and gets lost. He eventually makes his way to the house of a high school student named Shaggy Rogers. Scooby and Shaggy become fast friends. Later when Shaggy and three other students Fred Jones, Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley are accused of a high school prank involving ghosts, they enlist Scooby to help them solve the mystery and clear their names.
Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster[]
In Scooby-Doo! Curse of the Lake Monster, Scooby and the gang have been solving mysteries all over town. While investigating lake monster sightings at Daphne's Uncle's country club, Scooby grows jealous of Shaggy's newfound crush on Velma.
Trivia[]
- This is the second live-action incarnation of Scooby-Doo after the one from the theatrical live-action movies.
- While Scooby-Doo is usually the protagonist of the Scooby-Doo franchise, this version of him is the deuteragonist of the Brian Levant movies since Shaggy is a more key character.
