The Scooby Doobies was one of the three sports teams on Laff-a-Lympics. Their other competitors were the Yogi Yahooeys and the hostile Really Rottens. Scooby Doobies, along with Yogi Yahooeys, is a "good guy" team who are cooperative, loyal to each other and abide by the rules. The team drew mainly from the 1970s Hanna-Barbera cartoons, particularly the "mystery-solving" series derived from Scooby-Doo, whose titular character served as team captain.
The Team is a group of superheroes consisting:
|Dee Dee Skyes||??|
|Hong Kong Phooey||??|
The early production art for the series showed Jeannie from the Jeannie series and Melody, Alexander, Alexandra, and Sebastian the Cat from the Josie and the Pussycats series as members of the "Scooby Doobies" team, but legal problems with Columbia Pictures Television, Screen Gems' successor, prevented it. Hanna-Barbera owned Babu, but Columbia controlled all rights to Jeannie's image. As a result, Babu appeared alone as a member of the "Scooby Doobies". Likewise, Archie Comics held rights to the Josie characters. In the actual series, Jeannie was replaced by Hong Kong Phooey and the Josie characters were replaced by Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels.
Scooby Doobies participates in various sporting events, competing against two other teams Yogi Yahooeys and The vile Really Rottens. The events which the three teams are called upon to participate are parodies of Olympics and other famous sporting competitions in real life. Each episodes are interpreted into different sporting events set in various parts around the world. Because Scooby Doobies consists of mainly superheroes who are capable of dishing out some major athletic powers, this team had a huge advantage over its two other competitors, enabling the team to win more trophies than others.
Overall, Scooby Doobies secured total of 15 trophies (the last event was a three-way-tie in which all three teams won trophies together), the most wins.
