The Scrapniks are heroes appeared in the IDW Sonic the Hedgehog comics. They are discarded robots with free-will that once served the Eggman Empire. They now reside on Scrapnik Island.
Background[]
Scrapniks are known as robots created by Dr. Eggman, and they all have their own mechanical power supplies. They are totally different from Eggman's other robots, in fact, they are kind, peaceful and welcoming natures, especially since they don't want to be of Eggman's service. Since Eggman discarded them, they are full of rust, chipped paint or damaged bodies. Some of them may even have missing parts, as their normal models can usually possess and others have spare parts from other robots.
Trivia[]
- The concept of the Scrapniks is similar to the Badniks from the Island of Misfit Badniks, a group featured in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series published by Archie Comics. Writer Daniel Barnes has stated that he was not aware that this story existed.
- The name "Scrapnik" is a portmanteau of "scrap" and "Badnik".
