There she meets Sebastian Cobb, the scientist that was hired by Lanley to build the monorail of the town. Cobb then shows the consequences of that monorail. Being horrified by it, Marge and Cobb go to Springfield to stop the inauguration of the monorail. However, Copp stops for a haircut, causing both to arrive late. The monorail, driven by Homer, soon breaks down and loses control. In the monorail station, Cobb deduces the speed of the monorail thanks to Homer's scream. Then Cobb gets in touch with Homer using the monorail's communicator and tells him that he needs to use something as an anchor to stop the monorail, then Homer uses the "M" of the monorail's sign tied with a rope and latches into the giant donut of Lard Lad, stopping successfully the monorail.
Sebastian Cobb makes a minor appearance in "The Old Blue Mayor She Ain't What She Used To Be". After the new sky park built in the track of the old monorail activates one of his trains, he finds out that the monorail is alive, then he is runned by the monorail, it is unknown if he survived this.
