~ Sentinel Prime quoting Optimus Prime before fighting Megatron.

Sentinel Prime or known by Optimus Prime as The Great Sentinel Prime. is an alternate reality version of his Bayverse incarnation. He's heavily based on that version of the character; in this universe Sentinel Prime realized his wrong doings and decided to rebel against the evil Megatron. Sentinel Prime is Optimus Prime's mentor and the second leader of the Autobots. Sentinel Prime is the former ally to Megatron and the Decepticons.

He's voiced by Leonard Nimoy, who also played Spock in Star Trek.

Background[]

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen[]

While Sentinel Prime is unseen through the entire game, Megatron does briefly mention Sentinel Prime. Megatron talks about his involvement in assisting the Decepticons with their plans. Sentinel Prime is never mentioned again after this.

Transformers: Dark of The Moon[]

Sentinel Prime starts out exactly like his film version, Sentinel Prime is in his ship, he then crashes into the planet Earth. Sentinel Prime was revived thanks to Optimus Prime who used the All-Spark to revive Sentinel Prime. Sentinel upon waking up was somewhat aggressive; after realizing where he was he had calmed down. After this, Sentinel Prime had played along with Optimus and the Autobots. Once the opportunity struck Sentinel tried killing Bumblebee. However, Sentinel's attack was interrupted by Skids & Mudflap. Skids jumped in the way of the attack killing him almost instantly. Mudflap enraged by this, attacked Sentinel Prime. Sentinel killed him as well, then Ironhide attacked only for Sentinel to kill him as well. Sentinel made his get away with the pillars sparing Bumblebee. Later Optimus Prime would confront him. Optimus tries reasoning with Sentinel Prime, however, Sentinel used the pillars anyway before apologizing to Optimus Prime for what he's doing. The two would then fight, Sentinel would end up winning. Sentinel Prime told Optimus he should be lucky that Sentinel didn't kill him. Sentinel would later meet up with Megatron. The two of them would work with each other to bring back Cybertron much like the film.

However, in this universe upon Sentinel Prime fighting the Autobots before Sentinel could even land a singe hit, Optimus Prime would talk to Sentinel telling him that what he's doing is wrong. Sentinel looked around at the destruction he'd done and immediately began to feel remorse. Before Sentinel Prime could even apologize, Lockdown would come to Earth. Lockdown offered Sentinel Prime a seed for Optimus Prime. Optimus used this as a way to test Sentinel's honor. Lockdown offered a seed for Optimus, Sentinel Prime pretended to hand over Optimus to Lockdown. During this time, Sentinel and Optimus would work with each other to take down Lockdown. The two of them would then the Dinobots while on Lockdown's ship. Sentinel Prime then turned on Megatron then re-joined the Autobots. Sentinel Prime and Optimus Prime would work with each other to fend off against Megatron and Lockdown. Sentinel would successfully take down Megatron and the Decepticons. With the help of Optimus and the Autobots.

Personality[]

At first Sentinel Prime was no better than his film version. Sentinel was an egotistic, monger, destructive, barbaric and greedy individual. Sentinel Prime was very aggressive, he constantly tried to harm those who got in his way of restoring Cybertron. Sentinel Prime didn't even stop to consider how others feel. Sentinel didn't see humans as organic life, but rather as slaves. Sentinel Prime hated all humans, he saw them as barbaric and primitive beings. Sentinel Prime changed for the better though after Optimus Prime showed Sentinel the error of his ways.

Sentinel Prime soon became an extremely charismatic individual who realized what he was doing was wrong. Sentinel Prime began to slowly turn into the heroic figure that he used to be in the past. Sentinel would even begin to drop his negative traits to his personality such as their ego. Sentinel Prime is very selfless, he's constantly putting his life on the line for his fellow Autobots. Sentinel is always willing to go first into battle to lead his Autobots to victory. Sentinel Prime shares a deep respect for his student Optimus Prime. Sentinel sees Optimus as a noble warrior. Sentinel has stated that he's very proud of his Optimus Prime, seeing him like his own son. Sentinel Prime is very remorseful. Sentinel Prime showed deep regret for his actions after seeing all the destruction he caused. Sentinel Prime often shows immense regret for his actions constantly wishing to make up for his actions. Sentinel is very patriotic, he sees all Cybertronians as god-like figures. Sentinel Prime believes that all Cybertronians are strong beings. Sentinel's willing to do literally anything for his planet. Even if it means going to extreme measures. However, Sentinel Prime would learn that no life is worth bringing back the planet Cybertron. While Sentinel Prime still dislikes humans, he doesn't hold any ill will towards humans anymore. He vowed to protect the humans with his Autobots despite disliking the humans after remembering that freedom is the right of all sentient beings.

  • Sentinel Prime for some reason, in the games doesn't use the space bridge like the film. Instead Shockwave is the one who activates the space bridge. But, it should be noted that Sentinel Prime is still the one who made the space bridge.
  • In the Dark of The Moon video game, Shockwave's actually the main antagonist rather than Sentinel Prime.
