Robert "Bob" Reynolds, better known as Sentry, is the deuteragonist of the 2025 Marvel Cinematic Universe Film Thunderbolts*. He is a superpowered individual suffering from amnesia, who is believed to be stronger than all of the Avengers combined. Within him lives a dark side of him known as Void, who embodies all of his loneliness and despair.

He is portrayed by Lewis Pullman.

Appearance[]

Bob is a Caucasian male of average height, but exceptional muscular build. He has slightly long, shaggy brown hair, although when in the guise of Sentry, it was dyed blonde and slicked back.

Personality[]

Bob suffers from bipolar disorder, resulting in him having moods that vary wildly between extreme highs and lows - his highs providing delusions of grandeur and his lows making him nihilistic and self-loathing. He desires to be useful and has a good heart, but his trauma and depression make him self-sabotage and feel hopeless; when he tries to help and it ends poorly, he laments in the belief he makes everything worse. These negative emotions were made worse upon the manifestation of his dark half, the Void, with the evil entity's actions making Bob feel immense guilt.

Despite his nihilism and depression, he was able to become friends with Yelena and eventually the other Thunderbolts/New Avengers, as they were similarly outcasts and failures trying to be better, which allowed him to find fulfillment upon finally feeling appreciated and loved.

While he managed to achieve a sense of balance to stave off his darker thoughts, he remains reluctant to actively help in superheroics due to the threat of the Void still lurking within his mind.
