Serara is a supporting protagonist in the light novel and anime series Log Horizon. She is a beginner player of Elder Tales and a junior member of the Crescent Moon Alliance. After being pulled into the game by the Apocalypse, Serara ended up in Susukino and got kidnapped by the notorious guild Brigandia. However, she was rescued by Shiroe, Akatsuki, Naotsugu and Nyanta, who defeated the guild and brought her home. Afterwards, while she never officially joins Log Horizon, she remains very close to its members, especially Nyanta, whom she has a crush on.
She is voiced by Misaki Kuno in the Japanese version of the anime and Hilary Haag in the English version.
Overview[]
As her class level suggests, Serara is relatively new to Elder Tale. When the Apocalypse took place, she happened to be in the middle of a dungeon raid in Susukino, leading to her getting stranded in the now lawless city ruled by the Brigandia guild.
Personality[]
Serara is meek and naive and flusters easily at the thought of things such as love and marriage (specifically regarding to Nyanta). At the start of the series, she cowers in the face of dangerous people such as Demiqas and can be indecisive in a battle. She prefers spending her time productively; while hiding from Demiqas at Nyanta's house, she spends most of her free time cleaning, and enjoys helping others.
She also has a strong sense of duty and obligation. For example, at the welcome home party thrown by the Crescent Moon Alliance, she refuses to relax and instead insists on serving food to guild members as thanks for the safe rescue. During the Training Camp she gains confidence and learns more diverse abilities. In episode 17, she snares the monsters Touya lured to her position so Rudy and Isuzu can blast them, and in episode 19, she's seen casting offensive spells and remembering to use her summon pet more as well, as commented by Nyanta and Naotsugu.
