Sergeant Benton, full name John Benton, is a member of UNIT, beginning as a minor character in The Invasion, and becoming a recurring character throughout seasons 7-13 of Doctor Who. A loyal member of UNIT, Benton is a determined and down to Earth soldier, willing to stand up for the right thing. He is also a very gentle man, acting as an everyman figure.
He is portrayed by John Levene.
