Carl Roberts was one of the chosen drivers in the original 1995 Twisted Metal and a recurring contestant in the Twisted Metal franchise. A man determinated to stop and foil the Twisted Metal contest, he along with his sister Jamie Roberts vow to win the contest and stop Calypso once and for all.

He serves as the driver of Roadkill, a role he shares with his sister.

History

Twisted Metal

Desiring the safety of the kids and the good in mankind, Carl put it upon himself to enter the contest in hopes that he can stop the nightmare tourament. In the end, Carl said his wish to Calypso, who actually twisted his wish into a much more nightmarish and ensuring that the world is now an empty space: "Without the tourament".

Twisted Metal 2

After being lost in space, Carl briefly returns in Jamie's ending. With his sister now joining him in their fight against Calypso's scheme, he is now back into the battle against fate.

Twisted Metal: Head-On

In Head-On, both Carl and Jamie controls the Outlaw. After arriving by the end, Carls attempt to kill Calypso as he raises his gun at the mad man. Jamie pleads with him that they should not be killer but instead wish to stop the contest, but Carl dissagree as he know Calypso tricks.

As the moment become more heated, Carl eventually snaps and tell that he wishes Jamie will shut up, leading to her mouth dissapearing much to his dismay.

Trivia

• It is unknown how Carl was able to survive in outer space in nothing but his car for an entire year without oxygen, food or protection from the vacuum.
