Sergei, commonly known by his nickname as Idiot, is a major character in the video game Metro Exodus. He is of the members of Spartan Rangers, as well as the member of Aurora Crew after their defection and escape from Moscow, thus joining them on their journey eastward.

However, despite his rather ironic nickname, Idiot is one of the most intelligent members of the Aurora Crew and works as the crew's philosopher. He gives his members philosophies regarding humanity in their travels. He is also the crew's main strategist and mission planner, who plans out the tactical approach in their missions, in contrast to Samuel Taylor's more direct and often violent approach.

Personality

Despite the fact that he chose his own moniker, Idiot is one of Artyom's armoured train's most intellectual members. Idiot is silent, and when he does communicate, he does it in a cryptic manner, which suits his philosophic temperament.

Metro Exodus

During a chat with Sam on the Aurora as they leave Moscow, Sam questions why they can't just pull everyone out of the Metro now that they know it's safe, to which Idiot quickly points out that those people would need a place to stay and food, implying that he sees things others don't.

Idiot is frequently seen pondering humanity's woes and the futility of existence. Unlike many of the Rangers, he believes in analysing all elements of a problem before taking any drastic measures. This is owing to his occupation as the crew's strategist.
