The Seven Sovereigns are anti-heroes and anti-villains in the 2020 action-adventure video game Genshin Impact. They are the seven powerful elemental dragons who ruled Teyvat before the arrival of the primordial one.
Biography[]
Considered as the most powerful dragons of each element, the Seven Sovereigns were the rulers of the old world. With each one residing one of Teyvat's seven nations.
Before well know Teyvat was created. The old planet was a land of pure elemental energy life from. Apep herself also created her own life froms and plan to propagate the land. But one day, the primodial one and their 4 shades descend to Teyvat and created a war with them. Primodial One win and they claim part of elemental authority from Dragons for themselve. They terraform land to be suitable for humans life known as Teyvat. They also take control of Irminsul which can be used to manipulate memory and fate of everyone in Teyvat. Before the war end however, Dragon king Nibelung who presumably control Imaginary Energy himself left Teyvat. Primodial one and 4 shades then created humanity as one unites civilization. They protect humanity with love and care.
Dragon King Nibelung return to Teyvat with Abyssal energy to start a new war with Celestia. Which cause the end of first human civilization and bring abyssal corruption to Teyvat. The primodial one win and kill Nibelung however the war makes them weaker and canon fully control Teyvat anymore. Celestia become less merciful to humanity and will go on an extreme attempt to keep abyssal realm from destroying Teyvat. Even if it means human civilization will get collateral damage.
Apep as one of the survive dragon, has her forest transform into a desert by nailed drop by Celestia to cleanse the abyss, she too wants the abyssal power for herself to use it to take revenge on Celestia. She agrees for King Deshret to created Kingdom in her domain which an exchange is when he died, Apep will consume him entirely for power and knowledge. King Deshret has successfully obtained forbidden knowledge but unknowingly it's dangerous to human and other life from, Rukkhadevata help him stop the abyssal corruption and King Deshret killed himself to stop abyssal energy to spread more. Apep, unknown to the danger of abyssal energy, consume him hope to gain power necessary to defeat Celestia, become infect by energy herself. She tries to adapt to the energy but it's not very succeeded. Her children decide to leave her domain to Sumeru Forest created by Rukkadevata from part of a desert, taking a form of fungus. However, some of them transform into the withering from abyssal energy inside them.
One of the casualties of the war was the original Dragon of Water, who later reincarnated into Neuvillette. However, as the vishaps became impure, he was born with a humanoid form rather than a dragon form.
Story[]
Sumeru Arc[]
After Nahida used her power to erase all forbidden knowledge from Irminsul including the existence of Rukkadevata, Apep became amnesiac because memory equate to Dendro power in Teyvat, Nahida, Traveler and Paimon found them and help restore their memory. They realize that by erase forbidden knowledge, they created holes in Apep body because Apep has intricate abyssal energy to be part of herself. If those holes are not healed, Apep will die and release dendro energy that will make Sumeru plant life overgrown, steal all oxygen from animals and people and they will die. To save Apep, they travel back to desert to Apep domain, while hesitance at first, Apep eventually allow them to enter her body. Nahida is about to sacrifice her dendro power to heal Apep which will turn her into a single small tree, but Nahida is too important to be lose, so Apep children decide to sacrifice themselves by turn back to dendro energy to heal Apep body. After the crisis is solve, Apep say to Nahida, Traveler, and Paimon that she will no longer attempt to overthrow the Heavenly Principle and seven nations. She will just wait for them to eventually collapse on themselves.
Fontaine Arc[]
After Focalors' death he gained command of Fontain and used most of his power to hand out visions to people of strong will. An unexpected effect after Neuvillette regained his authority was that some Primordial Bathysmal Vishaps started appearing in Fontain.
