Shen Xiang is a major character from the adventurer manga and anime series Undead Unluck. He is the holder of the Untruth negator, the second member of the Union, and a martial artist from China. He initially served as a minor antagonist during the Introduction Arc of the series.
He is voiced by Natsuki Hanae in Japanese and Aleks Le in English.
Appearance[]
Shen is a tall Chinese man with a very muscular build, cyan-colored messy hair with several locks at his eyes and two longer arriving at his neck.
As a member of the Union, Shen wears a white sleeveless Chinese attire with golden buttons along with a red necktie. His lower arms wear black dancing gloves with golden Chinese-styled linings at the top. His legs wear black ninja pants
Personality[]
Shen is an openly friendly and optimistic man with great passion when it comes to fighting.
He is not as ruthless or hostile as the majority of the other Union members as he denies Void's order to kill Fuuko Izumo, the Unluck negator.
He is a very flirty man who loves to have a chat with females like Fuuko and is described as a flirtatious fool by Void when he interrogates Fuuko out of curiosity about her name, her type, and what is she into. He can be honest when Fuuko tries to notify Andy that she believes that it is his ability that is interrupting his movements, something that corrected her as wrong.
Although Shen can mostly be seen as an unworried and easy-going person, he can sometimes be seen as distressed, like when he saw Void as defeated.
He likes to praise his opponents during battle as a result of his love for fighting. Shen has also possibly never had the intention to even kill Fuuko in the first place, unlike Void despite having been assigned to do so earlier in the series.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Untruth: Shen is capable of altering the movements of his opponents to do the opposite of what they have in mind. This ability can easily be in play as long as his targets is in his sight.
Equipments[]
- Nyoi-Kinko Staff: Shen's primary weapon in battle. It is one of the first artifact to be shown in the series. The staff is incredibly durable and has supernatural properties as it can be extended through speeches of its user.
- Kinto'un Cloud: Shen's second artifact. It is a supernatural flying cloud that flies at an alarming speed and supports its user.
Trivia[]
- Both of Shen's two weapon are very obvious references to Sun Wukong's magical staff, Ruyi Jingu Bang and his Nimbus Cloud from the Journey to the West.
