Shou Hei Kun is a central character and major supporting character in the historical seinen anime and manga series, Kingdom. He is the state of Qin's Head of Military Affairs being one of the greatest strategists in China being recognized as the best in Qin and a rival to Ri Boku and the Chancellor of the Right within in the Qin government.

Besides his capacity and importance as Chief of Military Affairs, Shou Hei Kun is also a teacher and lecturer at Strategical Academy of Qin as he teaches and grooms the next generation of strategists with his top students being his nephews Mou Ten, Mou Ki, and Ka Ryo Ten as he taught them the ways of strategical warfare and tactical theories.

In the anime, he is voiced by Junichi Suwabe, who also voiced Leone Abbacchio in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Yami Sukehiro in Black Clover and Eraser Head in My Hero Academia. In the live action films he is portrayed by Hiroshi Tamaki, who also portrayed Immortal Tatsu in the live action Gokushufudou.

Appearance[]

Describe by Yasuhisa Hara, the mangaka of Kingdom, as a very good-looking man, Shou Hei Kun is a man of an average height but with a warrior's build underneath his fashionable court robes. He has long jet-black hair that he ties in a ponytail and a short goatee.

Early Life[]

Born as a prince of Chu, the superstate of the South, Shou Hei Kun or So Shi as he was known in his youth was sent to the enemy state of Qin as a political hostage at a young age where he was accepted and adopted into the Mou family after being abandoned by his state. During this period, he got to know his new family as he quickly became fast friend with the oldest siblings Mou Bu and Mou Aki.

One could say his martial prowess is even on the same level as sir Mou Bu and at the least, it cannot be denied that his intellect is on par with Ri Boku. The very thought gives you goosebumps, does it not?
