Hoo-ray! I just reached level 987413 in Mouse Quest!
~ Shrimp.

Shrimp is the titular character in the Smiling Friends episode "Shrimp's Odyssey." Originally trying to win back his ex-girlfriend Shrimpina with no luck by contacting the Smiling Friends, he eventually discovers and gets together with Jennifer.

He is voiced by David Firth, who also voiced Salad Fingers in the series of the same name.

Appearance[]

He is a short, anthropomorphic shrimp with a hunched body and pudgy build. He has squinted eyes, pale, wrinkly skin, and two thin, wispy hairs on the back of his long neck.

He wears a bright green t-shirt with "Mouse Quest II" written on it with bold, capitalized white text that is slightly too small for him. He wears blue shorts and untied black shoes with white socks. He also wears crooked, circular glasses.

Personality[]

He is an extremely reclusive individual, so much so that he is startled by sunlight entering his room. It is implied that his screen time resulted in his poor eyesight and light sensitivity, as he spends most of his days playing Mouse Quest II inside his messy apartment, which is filled with pop-culture related collectibles and merchandise. He is cowardly, weak, somewhat pathetic, and afraid of confrontation. He speaks in a socially awkward, stilted, choppy manner.

Shrimp apparently neglected his relationship with Shrimpina, presumably by wasting his time playing Mouse Quest II, but is still devoted to her, going to great lengths to win back her favor: getting out of his room, changing up his fashion, getting a tan, and even attempting to work out. He is devastated after learning that Shrimpina doesn't want to resume their relationship, breaking down into tears and asserting that there is no hope for him in finding a relationship.

However, he is quick to move on after Jennifer expresses an interest in him, after which he makes out with her.

  • According to a YouTube comment, David Firth said that he was asked for the Jerry Jackson voice for Shrimp, to which he remarked "Easiest voice acting gig of my life."
  • One of the figurines in his room is of Mr. Frog.
