Shun Uruma (漆間 俊 Uruma Shun) is the main protagonist of the 2020 Japanese psychological manga, Juujika no Rokunin. He is a teenager who is bent on taking revenge on the bullies who have caused his life very immense pain.

History:[]

Early Childhood[]

12-year-old Shun Uruma

Shun, when he used to get bullied.

When Shun Uruma was 12-years-old, he was always getting bullied by his other peers, Kyou Shigoku: Senkouji Katsumi, Ushiro Yuuga, and Kuga Daichi. The boys would either shoot him with BB guns, kick him while they're on bicycles, sexually harass him, force him to drink poisonous stuff, or beat him up. Despite the mistreatment, Shun would always return to his family with a smile on his face. One day, he gets a cat for his younger brother, Kakeru Uruma, to which the younger boy enjoys. However, when Uruma gets a call from Kyou to visit the forest, the young boy does so, but when he did, he notices a dead cat lying on the floor in a pool blood. That cat belonged to his younger brother that when he notices it, he immediately runs away before bumping into his grandfather, who takes him back to his family. Eventually when Kakeru sees him one day crouching on the ground, the younger boy hugs him, telling him that he doesn't have to try hard to put up a smile for the rest of the family when he's in pain, causing him and Kakeru to cry together.

Confrontation Time

The bullies would go to Uruma to give him their phone for Kyou to tell him what would happen to his family....

Not long after Uruma told his family about the bullies (he decided to not name-check them in fear of retaliation) who have made his life very horrible. As a result, his parents decided to transfer him to a different middle school in hopes of protecting him from any further abuse from the bullies. However, one day, when Uruma's family is driving in a car, the victim was approached by Senkouji Katsumi, Ushiro Yuuga, and Kuga Daichi, in which the latter hands Uruma his phone for Kyou to tell his victim about "an accident happening at the mountain that his parents would always go through happening". This shocks Uruma as Kyou eventually shoves a helpless Madoka Hiro in front of the car, causing Uruma's parents to turn their car to the right before driving off a mountain and crashing onto the ground. As Mr. and Mrs. Uruma are dead, Kakeru survives the ordeal, but not without getting beaten into a coma by Kyou before the psychopath decides to lit the car on fire.

Angry Uruma

Uruma's rage at what his bullies did to his family.

At some point, Uruma visits his brother, Kakeru, in a hospital after the incident. While his paternal uncle offers him a place to stay, the poor boy decided that he would stay at his grandfather's house instead. After moving to his grandfather's home, he goes inside his grandfather's storage room to find a rifle, discovering a picture of his grandfather with a group of military soldiers at the same time. As his grandfather approaches him from out of nowhere, the former attempts to take back his gun as the young boy states that he would never allow anyone to take his revenge from him. In response, his grandfather tells his grandson that he cannot simply use the gun to kill his tormentors as it would draw attention from the police. As the older man takes back his gun, he promises Shun that he would train him in the arts of torturing his bullies.

First Victim-Senkouji Katsumi[]

Four years later, 15 or 16-year-old Shun Uruma is attending a high school along his classmate Azuma Chizuru. At some point, he also bumps into Kuga who apparently antagonizes him before Senkouji tells him to cut it out. As the two leave, Uruma immediately recognizes them before having a brief interaction with Azuma. Afterwards, as school ends, Azuma is shown to be walking somewhere, only for an obese man to jump out of nowhere and attempt to assault the poor girl, only for Uruma to intervene and disarm the man. As he gives Azuma his jacket to cover up the torn dress she is wearing, he tells her that he'll get the police involved as she immediately runs away, only for him to kill the man with his knife, feeling satisfied that he has the ability to kill someone.

Not long after, he decides to focus on his first target: Senkouji Katsumi. As he is planning on how he could kidnap and torture Senkouji, he is eventually encountered by the teenager who apparently wanted to make amends with him. As they walk to places taking photos or eating at a restaurant, Uruma started noticing that Senkouji isn't the same as he used to be when they were 12-years-old. At some point later, Uruma was walking somewhere only to eavesdrop on Kuga and Senkouji's conversation over the latter's announcement of something he regrets. One day, as Uruma follows Senkouji to his house as the latter wanted to show the former something, the former questions him about the past. Feeling guilty and remorseful, Senkouji broke down into tears and apologized to Uruma for having hurt him. Not long after, a kitten appeared and when Senkouji noticed a truck that was about to crash into it, he immediately jumped towards it while shielding it away from the truck, finally proving his redeemed personality, much to Uruma's shock. However, while Uruma was still shocked at Senkouji's dramatic change in personality, the latter unexpectedly signals Azuma, who had been following them the entire time, to hold Uruma as he grabs a rock and smashes it onto Uruma's head, knocking him unconscious.

Some time later, Uruma wakes up to find both him and Azuma, the person who restrained him to allow Senkouji to knock him unconscious, tied up to chairs. He notices Senkouji preparing several tools for torturing him before the supposed redeemed bully carries a cat in front of him before strangling it to death, revealing his true colors to his victim. As Senkouji states how he regretted not killing Uruma in the first place, he proceeds to beat Uruma up before using a nail gun and firing it at his victim many times. As Azuma attempts to stop him in spite of being tied up to a chair, the sociopath fires several nails at her, only to have missed several times before the poor girl wets herself on the floor. Afterwards, Senkouji decides to strangle Uruma in order to kill him, only for the latter to shove him back by the former's throat before Uruma revealed his ability to control all of his joints in his body, rendering him free from being tied up to the chair completely. As he shows Senkouji the "proper" way to strangle someone, he grabs Senkouji by the throat with both hands and strangles him for 8 seconds before knocking him out. Uruma then tells Azuma not to tell anyone about this incident or he would murder her.

Senkouji soon wakes up to find himself chained up in a room. As he notices that Uruma is still alive and that there was a peeler on the floor, he questions his victim if he is planning on using it, as the former answers that he already used it. When placing a mirror in front of Senkouji to reflect the latter's body, the latter noticed that much of his skin on his chest was already peeled so severely that he screamed in shock and terror at his body. When Uruma placed one finger on the already peeled area, the bully screamed in extreme anguish as even the slightest touch on such area would cause him immense pain. Uruma then shoots several pellets using the same exact gun that Senkouji used on him when they were younger on his bully's chest, causing the bully to puke from the result. As Uruma prepares to end Senkouji's life, the latter started pleading for mercy, claiming that he was forced into doing such heinous acts and that he would testify to the court for his crimes if his victim allows him to live. However, since Uruma is not buying it, Senkouji finally admits how he enjoys his victim's suffering and insults his family and friends, resulting in Uruma firing one last bullet on Senkouji before the latter finally dies.

After killing Senkouji, an already weakened Uruma arrives to his house, collapsing, as his grandfather catches his body before it hits the floor. His grandfather tells him that he would clean up his bully's corpse to allow the young boy to rest.

Second Victim-Ushiro Yuuga[]

Personality:[]

At first, Shun Uruma could be described as a kind, caring, and optimistic boy when he was 12-years-old. Despite the amount of pain the bullies have subjected him to, he remained strong in order to prevent himself from ever expressing the pain that he has been through. However, all that would eventually disappear from him as a result of the incident that took his parents' lives while placing his brother in a coma. In addition to the training that Uruma has gone through, the teenager can be very cold, vengeful, and sadistic (towards Ushiro Yuuga) when carrying out his plans. He even threatens to kill Azuma had she leaked out the information regarding his murder of Senkouji Katsumi to the police.

Despite this, Uruma can be very protective of others. For example, in Chapter 2, he attacked a man who attempted to assault his classmate, Chizuru Azuma, and lends her his jacket to cover over her torn clothes before reassuring her that he would get the police involved. In addition, he can also be very compassionate as he expresses concern over Karen Sakaruba's well-being after she committed suicide before finishing off her and Uruma's torture of her abusive boyfriend, Ushiro Yuuga. Also, he expresses sympathy when his love interest, Kaname Shirakawa, ended up getting assaulted by one of their former tormentors, Madoka Hiro, prompting him to take revenge on the rapist for what he did to her. He also cares about his family and is regularly seen visiting his younger brother, Kakeru, at the hospital, and also helps with the chores around his grandfather's house.

In spite of his cold personality, Uruma can also be very socially awkward as he is very anti-social and doesn't seem to pay attention in his class all the time.
