|~ Sir Bedevere to King Arthur.|
Sir Bedevere is the Deuteragonist in Monty Python and the Holy Grail and the first of the King Arthur's knights to join him on his quest for the Holy Grail. He is played by the late Terry Jones.
Sir Bedevere is first seen in the Witch Village when the townsfolk bring him a woman who they dressed up as a witch. Bedevere tells them that there are ways of telling if someone is a witch, like that they are made of wood. When he asks them what also floats in water besides wood, no one can answer it until King Arthur shows up saying "a duck". Later on, they take the woman to a pair of scales and place her in one of them and a duck in the other, when it turns out that she really is a witch. Bedevere asks who Arthur is and he tells him that he is King of the Britains. Bedevere bows before him and Arthur asks him to join him at the Round Table which he accepts.
