Sizzle is a minor character in the Transformers franchise, especially Generation One. He is based on a figure from the 1988 toyline.
Marvel Comics[]

Sizzle first appeared in the UK-exclusive story "Enemy Action". He and fellow Sparkabots Fizzle and Guzzle had been sent to Earth to keep an eye on Galvatron, who had been encased in lava. On seeing Galvatron free himself, they tracked him from a distance as he approached the Earth Decepticon base. They then came under attack from the Firecons, who had also come from Cybertron seeking an alliance with Galvatron. The two groups battled until Galvatron returned. Sizzle attempted to challenge Galvatron at gunpoint but was easily swatted aside by him.
In "Salvage", Sizzle and the others freed Ultra Magnus, who had also been trapped in the lava, hoping to enlist his assistance. The group saw the Earth Decepticons retrieving the deactivated Megatron and hoped to stop him being brought back online but were foiled by another attack from Galvatron, who easily held the Sparkabots at bay until Ultra Magnus drove him off.
In the subsequent "City of Fear" storyline, Sizzle and the others returned to Cybertron to seek assistance from the Autobots there but found their city, Kalis, deserted. Capturing the Decepticon Flywheels, they learned the city was inhabited by zombies. Sizzle and the other Sparkabots held the zombies at bay while Ultra Magnus and Flywheels shut down the signal controlling them. The group resolved to track the signal underground but Sizzle was vocal in disagreeing with Ultra Magnus' decision to let Flywheels go back to the Decepticons for reinforcements. They were then met by Springer, who explained the mastermind behind it all was a renegade Autobot scientist, Flame, who aimed to activate an ancient engine that would tear Cybertron apart. With assistance from the Wreckers, plus Flywheels and Trypticon, the group infiltrated Flame's control room and defeated his zombies, with the engines being shut down by an act of sacrifice from the zombified Impactor.
Sizzle and the others intended to accompany the Wreckers back to Earth to confront Galvatron again, but ended up investigating a dead Autobot and discovered an alien, Zabra, allied with the Decepticons and conducting gladiatorial contests. Captured by the Firecons, Sizzle initially felt their priority should be to rejoin the Wreckers but eventually chose to go and help Ultra Magnus, who had been taken to the ring, saving him from a Decepticon ambush.
Sizzle made his only Marvel US appearance in Issue #46, among a group of Autobots being held captive on Cybertron. He, Fizzle and Backstreet were confused when they were sent to Earth, later learning this was part of a test set by Scorponok, who had convinced a group of human bounty hunters, the Roadjammers, to hunt the trio with weapons he had provided. The Roadjammers disabled the three Autobots without difficulty, but when they all used the weapons on three Decepticon Headmasters and turned them against Scorponok, he was forced to release all six. Sizzle and the others made sure the Roadjammers had been taken to safety before departing the scene.
Trivia[]
- In contrast to the red and black colour scheme used by his toy and in his sole Marvel US appearance, Sizzle sported a blue and black colour scheme throughout the Marvel UK stories.
