Skid and Pump are the main protagonists of Sr Pelo's famous Spooky Month web series and are supporting characters in the 2021 Newgrounds Flashgame, Friday Night Funkin, being the central antagonists of Week 2. However unlike the other antagonists of the game, the two do not have any form of dislike towards the protagonist, as they were merely hired by the Monster to bring him the Girlfriend in exchange for candy.
They are both voiced by series creator David Axel Cazares-Casanova, better know by his online pseudonym, Sr. Pelo.
Biography[]
Skid and Pump are cute beans who always seem to wear their Halloween costumes year-round, regardless of what month it is. The two kids love candy and go on sometimes risky adventures, like encounter shady people around town but somehow never get kidnapped, killed, etc. They also have bullies known as the Hatzgang which appear in most of the Spooky Month episodes, although they never really seem to fear them.
Appearance[]
Skid and Pump are a team/duo of two young children (Skid being 8 and Pump being 7) that are wearing Halloween costumes. Skid wears a skeleton costume with a black outfit with white lines and circles with it to represent the bones and Pump is wearing a pumpkin costume and a black suit, and white gloves and a pumpkin head.
Underneath their costumes, they are just normal kids. Even though they haven't been fully seen without them on, there are various Easter Eggs that show their true appearances. Skid has long dark purple hair while Pump's hair resembles an afro.
Personality[]
As any kid their age, Skid and Pump love to have fun and explore. Their main objective is to spread the joy of Spooky Month to others, regardless of what month it is. They are very innocent and do not want to cause harm to those around them.
Despite loving spooky things, Skid and Pump do not like scary things. They can come off as a bit dense, not truly knowing when they are in danger. This does not make them stupid, as at times they can tell when harm is afoot. However, they still do not resort to violence and try to make peace of the situation.
Similar to Boyfriend from Friday Night Funkin', Skid seems to be pretty much fearless, at least more than Pump. He is also quite open and welcoming, as when he and Pump were briefly captured by the Eyes of the Universe, Skid politely said hello to the monster. Pump seems to display more awareness of the situation at hand in this instance, as he trembles in fear while under the influence of the Eyes of the Universe.

Trivia[]
- There were various claims that Skid and Pump are brothers. This was debunked by the series' creator, Sr. Pelo, stating that they are just best friends.
- This is supported by the fact that Skid is seen asking Pump to come over to his house at the beginning of every Spooky Month video.
- The Monsters' beta design was originally black pulp arising out of a bloody pumpkin. Some of the fans of Friday Night Funkin' thought this was Pump's head, despite it having a different appearance.
- In a mod that uses the Monsters' beta design, it is confirmed (in the mod) that this is indeed Pump's head.
- In Friday Night Funkin', Skid and Pump's vocals were provided by Sr. Pelo.
- Skid's mother, Lila, may be an architect, as she can be seen using autoCAD at one point.
- It is shown from pieces of art Sr. Pelo has posted on his twitter that Pump's parents work out of town, coming back to visit him and his sister, Susie on occasions. Skid's father, on the other hand, is dead. He and Lila tend to visit his grave on Father's Day.
- While not outright shown, it's implied that his father's death is a rather touchy subject for Skid. As when someone on Twitter jokingly asked if his costume was of him cosplaying his dad, Sr. Pelo posted a piece of art showing Skid in tears before Lila runs in while preparing to throw a punch in response to this.
- Skid and Pump make a cameo on the video The Ultimate "Nightmare Before Christmas" Recap Cartoon by the animator Cas van de Pol. In the video, the two take over the roles of Lock, Shock and Barrel, being the ones who kidnap Santa for Jack Skellington and then sending him to Oogie Boogie's lair. Sr Pelo responded to their appearance, commenting "I still can't believe it!!!!" on the video.
- Pumps eyes are blue instead of white throughout the episode, "Unwanted Guests". This was caused from his and Skid's interaction with the Eyes of the Universe.
- Skid's name seems to be a portmanteau of "Skeleton" and "Kid", while Pump's name is an abbreviation of "Pumpkin".
- It's implied that "Skid" and "Pump" aren't their actual names and are instead nicknames they give to one another. This is supported by the fact that only they are seen referring to each other as such while everyone else around them either calls them "boys" or "kids". It's worth noting that when Pump's older sister, Susie, confronts them over going outside, she begins to call him something starting with "Wil-" before getting cut off by Lila arriving to pick up Skid. This is again brought up in official Father's Day art when the siblings send a picture to their parents, there are words that can be seen crossed out in favor of "Pump" being used to sign it instead.
- Sr. Pelo himself has stated that his name is simply not "Will".
