One shall stand, one shall fall.
~ Skynet quoting Optimus Prime.
Hold them off, at all cost.
~ Skynet's orders when fending off the Decepticons.

Skynet is the overarching protagonist of Transformers vs. The Terminator. They are an alternate version of the villainous Skynet that didn't turn against humanity and instead functioned like how it was supposed to; it was attacked by the villainous Megatron along with his evil Decepticons and in response it tried to rebel. This would result in failure and Skynet going back in time to try and stop the evil Megatron from continuing his plans. They are an ally to both Optimus Prime and Sarah Conner.

Background[]

Early life[]

See main article: Skynet

Skynet shares mostly the history as their villainous version except, it ended up not betraying its human creators and actually benefiting humanity.

Transformers vs. The Terminator[]

Skynet was able to perform its function very easily. It worked side by side with its human creators to better the world. This was until the Decepticons attacked the Earth in an attempt to conquer the world. Skynet would help its human creators fight the Decepticons. Sadly, this wouldn't be enough to stop the Decepticons. The Decepticons would end up killing all of humanity and conquering the planet. Megatron threatened to destroy Skynet if they didn't join the Decepticons. Skynet played along with Megatron and joined his army; in truth Skynet had been plotting against Megatron. Skynet made its assault, it then proceeded to build a time machine to go back in time to stop Megatron. Skynet was attacked by the Decepticons. Before the Decepticons could fully destroy Skynet, it sent The Terminator back in time to stop the Decepticons.

Skynet would successfully stop Megatron, however, at a cost. Megatron would be collected by the humans and used to "improve" Skynet. At the end Megatron can be seen smiling sadistically implying that Megatron is now part of Skynet.

Personality[]

Skynet is extremely loyal towards its human creators. Skynet is willing to help all of humanity no matter the cost, even if it means scarfing itself in the process. Skynet is very cunning and crafty, and capable of thinking on its own as shown by how it began working with Megatron while plotting against him. It's somewhat failure intolerant as it does not want to fail humanity. Often, it cannot stand the thought of failure and as a result pushes itself to the hardest. Other than that, Skynet shows little personality as it is very robotic; it has shown to be strategic at times and it's very sophisticated.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first and currently only version of Skynet to be portrayed as a hero.
  • This is also the first version to be corrupted by another AI.
  • For some reason, Skynet's Optimus Prime form only shows up in the posters for the comic rather than the story itself. It's unknown why this is the case though.
  • This is the only version of Skynet to ally itself with other robots rather than destroy them.
  • In the teasers for the comic, Skynet is seen working with the Decepticons. However, in the story Skynet opposes both Megatron and the Decepticons. Thus, it was likely done to not spoil the story.
