Smokey Brown is a supporting protagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency, and a minor character in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.
He at first appears as a pickpocket who steals Joseph Joestar's wallet. However, soon he befriends with Joseph who saves him from a racist policeman. His newfound friendship with Joseph lets him be a sidekick of JoJo throughout New York. He appears again alongside Robert E. O. Speedwagon and Stroheim and witnesses Joseph's battle against Kars. In his later life, Smokey becomes the of first black Mayor of his hometown in Georgia, and later, New York.
Personality and Traits[]
Initially, Smokey appears as a pickpocket who steals from Joseph. However, when Joseph defends him from the corrupt cops who attempt to arrest him, he shows genuine gratitude towards his savior, thus making him into one of his closest friends. Despite having no combat abilities whatsoever, Smokey risks his life getting pursued by Kars in order to tell Joseph about Lisa Lisa. In general, he's very loyal to both Joseph, who saved him from racist cops despite being his pickpocket victim, and Erina, who took him in like family (in defiance of her having grown up and aged in times unkind to blacks), such that in the epilogue of Part 2 years after, he's among the close family gathered at Erina's side on her deathbed.
