Snow Golems are minor characters from the indie game Minecraft. They are utility mobs/creature snow that attack hostile mobs with only 0 damage. However, they can be used by the player to be just their normal companion, or a distraction to the hostile mobs in order for the player to defeat the hostile mobs easily.
They are snow-like creature That can be created by the player by placing a two-height snow blocks with a pumpkin on top. They were added in the game's full release back in 2011, and were considered as the original Iron Golems.
Roles[]
Snow golems serves as minor characters in the video game Minecraft. Snow golems do not spawn unless it's crafted purposefully by a player, or extremely occasionally, crafted by an Enderman, both by placing a carved pumpkin (Do not require to be carved in Bedrock Edition) on top of 2 blocks of snow.
Appearance[]
The Snow Golem is a snowman-like entity, with a pumpkin on its head, has rock buttons on its chest, like a normal snowman, and sticks as arms. The player also can see its head by shearing off the pumpkin with shears.
Powers and Weaknesses[]
The Snow Golem can throw snowball to anyone who attacks it, or the hostile mobs. However, they can only deal no damage to their enemies, but their strength and powers can be used as a distraction by the player to easily fight the hostile mobs. Their only weaknesses are the exposure to the desert biomes, rains, and water. However, their abilities could fight mobs from the Nether, such as Blazes, since their powers contain hot fire while Snow Golems have power from their ice-cold snowballs, but because of their vulnerability to warmer climates and the mobs around the Nether, they could die nevertheless.
They can also do damage to the Ender Dragon in its home dimension - The End, since water is foreign and harmful to the Ender species, but again, the surroundings would make short work of the Snow Golem much like the Nether and warmer Overworld climates.
Giving a Snow Golem the "Fire Resistance" potion effect via an area effect splash potion will grant the Golem immunity from melting in higher temperatures. This means that, for the duration of the potion effect, the Snow Golem can last in any biome, including the Nether.
Background[]
The player must destroy and collect at least two snow blocks and one pumpkin to create it. Then afterwards, the snow golem comes to life, and will guard the player, or who anyone built it. They can be brought to the End to distract Endermen, and various mobs. Whenever a snow golem dies, the player will lose their distraction to their enemies, as long as it has 10 or more enemies. They can be also be built as the player's companion in Creative mode.
Trivia[]
- The Snow Golem is the only utility mobs with a ranged attack.
- Despite its marksmanship, they are the only entities that deal no damage to their opponents, for the sole exception of Blazes and the Ender Dragon.
