Sonic the Hedgehog is the titular main protagonist of the anime Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie.
He is an anthropomorphic, blue hedgehog endowed with super speed who constantly fights the forces of Dr. Robotnik. Together with his best friend Miles "Tails" Prower, Sonic has made it his sworn duty to protect Planet Freedom, the Land of the Sky, and South Island from the evil doctor's machinations.
In Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie, Sonic was called out to meet his greatest challenge, by orders from the President, to save Planet Freedom from certain destruction. Over the course of his adventure Sonic had to face the fearsome Metal Robotnik, but was later tricked into creating his most powerful opponent to date: Hyper Metal Sonic. In the ensuing battle with his robotic counterpart, Sonic was put in a race against time to not only save the President's daughter, Princess Sara, but also to stop Dr. Robotnik and Hyper Metal Sonic from completely destroying the Land of the Sky.
He was voiced by Martin Burke in the English version, and by Masami Kikuchi in the Japanese version.
Appearance[]
Sonic is an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog, with a peach-colored muzzle, arms and torso, and a black nose. He has large eyes with black pupils. He has six short spines on his head, two spines protruding from his back and a short tail. He wears two light and hyper-resistant red sneakers with white strap, cuffs, dark red soles and golden buckle, with two white gloves with cuffs and trousers on the hands.
Personality[]
Due to his super speed, Sonic is very fearless. He can be cool, relaxed, confident and relaxed with an innate desire to save people from oppression and danger, although he is prone to outbursts of anger when he is laughed at or upset.
Although he has faced Dr. Robotnik countless times, Sonic never shows he is scared of him and prefers to make sarcastic jokes about him, his plans and his inventions. However, he can be serious when he faces huge threats, as noted with Hyper Metal Sonic.
While Sonic rushes to rescue his friends from imminent danger, there are times when he wishes to be left alone and can suddenly attack even his closest friends and allies. He is reluctant to help people who bother him, like Old Man Owl, or distrustful, like Dr. Robotnik, even when they appear to be in danger. However, when times dictate and lives are right, Sonic will not hesitate to rise to the challenge and save those in need.
Powers and Abilities[]
Sonic's main ability is his amazing super speed, with Dr. Robotnik claiming he has the fastest feet in the world. Sonic is so fast that he can dodge bullets, run on walls, or move faster than the eye can see, sometimes moving from one place to another so fast that he appears to be teleporting. Sonic has equally fast reflexes as well, allowing him to react to opponents who are just as fast as himself.
In addition to his speed, Sonic possesses superhuman strength, with Robotnik claiming his strength is equal to that of Hyper Metal Sonic's. Sonic is also very durable, capable of surviving several blows from opponents as strong as Hyper Metal Sonic with little to no injuries. Sonic also possesses great agility, being able to leap great heights and performing various acrobatic moves.
