Sophie (Fire Emblem)

Sophie is a supporting character in Fire Emblem Fates, She is the daughter of Silas.

Biography[]

The daughter of Silas, Sophie was taught by her father to fight on horseback from a young age with her personal horse, Avel, who she still has yet to tame.

In her Paralogue, Sophie is seen practicing trying to ride Avel, only for him to continue beng stubborn by bucking her off before galloping away towards the portal and out of her Deeprealm world. In an attempt to catch up to the horse, Sophie finds herself back in the normal world before finding and calming down Avel. Before attempting to return to Deeprealm, she spots a village boy being attacked by local bandits. Sophie quickly intervened, but Avel acts up once again. Luckily, Silas and the army he was traveling happened to be close by and stopped the bandits. Upon seeing her father on the battlefield, Sophie insists she showed up at the scene because she heard screams for help through the portal leading to her Deeprealm. During the battle, Avel cooprates and helps Sophie, much to her surprise. Silas attributes this to her newfound confidence. Silas reveals that the horse's brash and demanding nature is why he chose Avel to be Sophie's horse, hoping that he would help her become more confident. Upon witnessing how much his daughter has grown first-hand, Silas invites Sophie to join the army, which she happily accepts.

Personality[]

A clumsy girl who's prone to making unintentional mistakes, Sophie still maintains her optimism and cheerfulness during the worst of scenarios. She dreams of becoming a well-respected and high-ranking knight, giving her a determination never repeat a mistake again. Her dedication to always getting better leaves her as something of a perfectionist and she has a hard-working and bold spirit. In spite of her horse, Avel's, stubbornness and rambunctious nature and tendency to run throw her off and run amok during the two's training sessions, she still loves him dearly.

Even besides her relationship with Avel, Sophie is very drawn to horses in general. She demonstrates this during her supports with Forrest. where she states that she's partial to clothing with silhouettes of horses on it, or fabric that matches Avel's coat.

While positive, Sophie has insecurities of her own, something her father gave her Avel for in order to quell. She also primarily talks to herself thanks to this.
