The Specialists are students that attend Red Fountain and major tritagonists from Winx Club. They specialize in wielding weapons and dragon riding. They are easily recognizable by their uniform.

• Sky is the leader and face of the group.
• Brandon is Sky’s right hand man and is both his sword and shield
• Timmy is physically the weakest but his lack of combat skill is made up for by his intelligence and he is the one Sky turns to when unsure of what to do
• Riven functions as this as he is the most aggressive and acts as the tough guy in the group.
• Helia is effeminate as he was originally meant to be a girl, is an introverted pacifist, has a Bishōnen, feminine appearance, has no interest in sports instead pursuing typically feminine interests

Personalities and Traits

Sky, Brandon and Riven are the well muscled manly men, they are rough and aggressive, performing more physical forms of combat, are physically stronger, and involved in more general physical activity while Timmy and Helia are slender, quieter, less confrontational sensitive guys in touch with their feminine side.

• Sky and Brandon show more positive forms of traditional masculinity. Sky is the quintessential hero — brave, kind, selfless, charismatic, strong and a natural leader.Brandon is a fun loving, caring, kind, very gentle, calm and collected and ladies man. Both are athletic, assertive, charismatic leaders who can inspire others to follow them. They share many similar traits and values so they naturally are best friends. Riven embodies something closer to toxic masculinity. He has an aptitude for sports and physical combat, additonally is very competitive, prone to jealousy and aggression. He also puts up a cold front having trouble expressing his emotions and comes across as more of a muscular tough guy.
• Timmy and Helia contrast with the masculine types on the show like Brandon and Riven and exhibit more effeminate qualities. Helia and Timmy are the most mature of the specialists and act as the voice of reason but have the least combat skill, don’t use melee weapons like the other guys and lack interest in physical activities, instead serving as support for the team. Helia is an androgynous looking pacifist who the specialists were unimpressed by and thought was weak on first impression. He’s an art student who doesn’t fight but his techniques are used for submission or incapacitation rather than doing any damage and he is skilled in espionage. He loves writing poems, drawing, romance, is calm, does not have a temper and is very encouraging. Timmy like Helia is shy, nonaggressive, not interested in sports, is very kind and gentle. They are best friends since they relate with each other best.

Trivia

• In the 4Kids dub, they are called Heroes.
• In Season 1, Sky and Brandon switch identities, but later on they revealed their actual identities.
  • However, they do not do this in the 1-Hour Specials.
• Even though Nabu is often seen with the Specialists (on both animated series and official stock arts), he does not attend Red Fountain.
• Even though specialists don't have magical abilities they are still seen inside Alfea's barrier which only allows magical creatures to pass though.
• Unlike Cloud Tower or Alfea (present), Specialists from Red Fountain have a uniform.
  • The Specialists finally debuted their new uniform and weapons in Season 6 Episode 3, after wearing the same uniform from season 1-5.
  • Their new weapons allows them to use the power that is within the weapons themselves.
• Despite not having much magic, they aren't humans nor are any students of Red Fountain. King Erendor was referred to Earth's people as "these humans", thus confirming that the Specialists aren't humans.
• In the Winx Club comics they are shown changing into uniforms like that's a magic transformation.
