Spike the Porcupine is a supporting character in the Archie comics and spin-offs Sonic the Hedgehog. He is a mobian porcupine and the leader of the Freedom Fighter group, the Desert Raiders. In reality, he is an associate of Egg Boss Nephthys the Vulture to keep the Midesta Egg Army at bay.
Appearance[]
Spike looks very similar to Sonic's: same body structure and a similar spike style, but with a slightly longer tail and rounder ears. He has amber eyes with orange fur, with black stripes around the tips of the feathers, and peach-colored fur on the front of the torso and muzzle, the latter having dips on the cheeks. He wears white gloves with red and black cuffs, red glasses with black frames, high red and black boots with white straps and a black handkerchief around his neck.
Personality[]
Like Sonic, Spike has a great sense of heroism, determination, boldness, and a big ego. However, he is a huge Sonic fan and would like to be like him. However, he seems somewhat oblivious, as he didn't recognize Sonic when he first met him.
Powers and Abelites[]
Spikes possesses a degree of super speed and can perform a maneuver similar to the Spin Attack where he spins around like a whirlwind with his arms out to attack with powerful punches.
Trivia[]
- In line with how Spike is modeled after Sonic, his species porcupine is as well closely similar to a hedgehog.
- His spinning attack is similar to Espio the Chameleon's spinning attack from Knuckles' Chaotix.
