Biography[]
Background[]
Peter Jason Quill was born on Earth to Meredith Quill and King J'Son, the ruler of Spartax who returned to his duties, but left element guns as a birthright. Peter was raised by his mother and his grandparents, whom he spent time with before they passed away. Like his mother, he grew a fond love for rock, becoming a fan of the band known as "Star-Lord", having posters of them in his room and having a jacket with their logo on it. In addition, Meredith told Peter that his father that he was an alien, but the child remained skeptical of the claim.
Abduction[]
On his thirteenth birthday, Meredith decided to reveal the element guns to Peter, as she believed that they were being watched from an unknown force. Her fear was correct, as after gifting him his birthright, the Chitauri arrived and abducted Peter, who proceeded to watch as his mother died from her injuries. Taken to a prison, he was abducted so that the Chitauri could destroy Spartax's military before the start of the war.
Joining the Ravagers[]
During his four years in prison, Peter had contact with any of the cell mates since he couldn't understand their languages, but this didn't matter since the Chitauri often placed the prisoners into a gladiator-like arena. He would become friends with the pirate Yondu Udonta, who spoke English and agreed to translate for him in exchange for food. The two later broke out of prison and encountered the Resistance, and decided to give them stolen supplies from the prison. Afterward, Peter was offered a position in the Ravagers as "The Kid", and agreed to since he found himself a dysfunctional family.
As a space pirate, Peter assisted the Ravagers in attacking the Chitauri's supply lines until he learned that alien race were planning to invade Earth. Convincing Yondu to help the Resistance, the Ravagers did so and came across Ko-Rel and her team, and Quill later became romantically acquainted with her. The Galactic War later ended when Drax the Destroyer killed Thanos and the Chitauri surrendered, and Peter decided to leave to find for his father, but also gave his Chewbacca action figure to Ko-Rel. Making it to Spartax, he found the place in shambles and realized he wasn't welcomed there, and returned to the Ravagers.
A New Leaf[]
When Yondu kidnapped Idera's Sacred Heart, Peter felt it was wrong and rescued the girl by stealing the Milano from Udonta. During his escape, he was intercepted by Ko-Rel, and her disappointment in him made Quill change his ways and testify against the Ravagers. As a result, Quill was pardoned and Yondu was imprisoned, but his former mentor place a bounty on his head for betraying him.
The bounty caused him to be hunted by bounty hunters Rocket Raccoon and Groot, and he convinced the two that they could stat a business called the "Guardians of the Galaxy". Rocket and Groot agreed, and the three became heroes for hire, but it's implied that Rocket mostly agreed to his interest in the Milano. The three soon realized they needed powerful and dreaded people to find success, and recruited Drax the Destroyer and Gamora, and started to go on several missions. At some point before the events of the game, Peter adopted the name "Star-Lord" from his favorite band.
Guardians of the Galaxy[]
Wanting to make profit, the Guardians of the Galaxy decide to capture a creature from the quarantine zone to sell to Lady Hellbender. While looking for the creature, Star-Lord finds a yellowish stone that unleashes a shadowy creature from inside, but Peter and Rocket are frightened by Groot's arrival. After capturing a llama-like alien creature, Star-Lord and his teammates summon an Acanti via Rocket's thumper, but the shadowy creature consumes it, forcing the Guardians to escape from the restricted zone. The team is then captured by the Nova Corps' ship Hala's Hope under the command of Ko-Rel, who decides to bring them onboard for entering an illegal area. On the ship, Peter meets Ko-Rel's daughter Nikki Gold, and saves her when Grand Unifier Raker's ship suddenly explodes.
The two then encounter Ko-Rel, and Peter can support Nikki on her actions or support Ko-Rel on reprimanding Gold. In her office, Peter convinces Ko-Rel to let him and his team go to pay off their fine, and depending on the player's choice, can be 7,000 to 9,000 units if they hide the llama, Rocket's tech, or hide nothing. Despite his teammates' annoyance, they come with a plan to sell Rocket or Groot to Lady Hellbender in exchange for units. If Rocket is chosen, Hellbender will not given them units, which forces the Guardians to fight their way out and obtain units in her vault, but if Groot is chosen, she will accept the Flora Colossus and learn of their plan to break him out. No matter which is chosen, the Guardians fight against the Dweller-in-Darkness and escape with Lady Hellbender promising to hunt them down.
Returning to the Milano, the Guardians contact the Nova Corps but instead find a weird message from Nikki, but can't fully receive it due to Kammy eating the ship's wires. The group then head to the Rock to pay off their fine, but find the place abandoned until they encounter Nova Corps soldiers under a strange spell.
