History
Origin
The first Steambots were created by early humans until the humans found nothing to do and devolved into the Shiners.
SteamWorld Tower Defence
The Early Steambots, being known as Towers, often tried to keep the Shiners out of their mines as best as they could.
SteamWorld Dig: A Fist Full of Dirt
The Steambots have been shown to be more civilized as one known as Uncle Joe gave a deep to his nephew Rusty for his mine. Rusty explored the mine until he found Voltbot. Both Rusty and Voltbot fought and Rusty went on to continue his uncle's work. After Rusty's battle against Voltbot, Dorothy McCrank decided to go look for him.
SteamWorld Dig 2
Dorothy looked all over for Rusty, even going as far as another town, finding characters such as Fen and friendly Shiners, only to run errands for a Shiner known as Rosie and found out that she was using Dorothy to take out generators and using Rusty to power up her mech. Dorothy took down Rosie and brought Rusty to the surface, but losing Fen after the world was destroyed because of that fight.
SteamWorld: Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
A Steambot known as Gabriel "Seabrass" Stubb was reading his son a bedtime story about a group of misfits fighting against an army known as the Void.
SteamWorld Heist
After the Earth was destroyed, the surviving Steambots were placed in different classes, the Deislebots, often associated by the Royal Space Force, The Scrappers, a group of space gangsters and the Cowbots, those that act the same as they did back when the Earth was not destroyed.
Captain Piper Faraday and her crew had a radio drama speaking out there actions of fighting the Scrappers and their leader Chop Sue, The Royalists and their leader the Red Queen as well as fight against Voltbots lead by Vectron.
