Stella is a major protagonist in the Netflix TV Show The Dragon Prince. She is a cuddlemonkey who was adopted by Rayla after she lost her parents, with Rayla becoming a mother-like figure to Stella ever since. She also has the ability to teleport objects through portals she creates.
Biography[]
Stella was born a cuddlemonkey, and would lose her parents and became an orphan. One day, Rayla would find while she was on her quest to find Viren and take care of her, with Rayla becoming her "cuddle-mama." When Rayla went to Callum's office in Katolis, Stella would steal the Key of Aaravos so she could get Callum's attention.
Stella would go with Rayla on her quest to find Aaravos' prison, so they went to the Umber Tor to find Rex Igneous, who had a map that had a clue on where Aaravos was imprisoned in. During this, Stella would help in getting into Umber Tor, and would help in getting into Rex Igneous' cave.
After this, she was put asleep by Claudia before they could learn where the place that could lead the location of Aaravos' prison. However, she was woken up by Rayla, and after Rex tried to kill Team Zym because he believed that they were trying to hurt him, as Rayla stabbed him to wake Rex up and stop Claudia from getting the map to Aaravos' prison, Stella would go with Rayla to stop Viren and Claudia.
Rayla would then hold Terry hostage, but Claudia used her own threats by telling Rayla that she would drop the coins that had the souls of her parents and Runaan, and while Rayla believed she was bluffing, Claudia seemingly threw the coins to the lava. Despite Rayla failing to catch the coins, Stella was able to teleport them to Rayla, but they were revealed to be rocks and that Claudia still had them.
However, Claudia gave Rayla the real coins after Terry confronted her over how cruel she was to use the coins that had Rayla's loved one's souls against her. Rayla and Stella would then go to the gate of Umber Tor to find the rest of Team Zym, and after finding out that they were all alright and were saved from Rex Igneous, they all hug each other.
Several days later, Rayla and Callum stayed in Katolis while Ezran and the others went to meet Domina Profundis so they could see if she knew about the location of Aaravos' prison. In Katolis, Stella would help in stealing the keys to Callum office so she could see if there was anything in Viren's dungeon.
There, she found Runaan's bow and a cursed coin that was used by Viren to trap his mentor Kpp'Ar. While leaving the dungeon, Opeli had Rayla arrested, although Callum was able to convince Opeli to free her, saying that even though Rayla entered his office without his permission and had Runaan's bow, which the latter used to kill Callum's father, he still trusts her and knew Rayla would tell him why she did it when the time was right.
The duo would then decide to go to the Bookery of Lux Aurea after Callum told Rayla that he found out that all the information about Starctouch elves was there, so they would likely find something about Aaravos and how to stop him. They would later find out about the Novablade, a weapon capable of killing a Startouch elf, before reuniting with the rest of the group who saved Callum and Rayla from a group of corrupted banthers.
The next day, Ezran and Callum would try to discuss whether they should find the archmage Akiyu, a tidebound elf who knew the location of Aaravos' prison, or get the Novablade so they could wait until Aaravos was freed and then kill him, with Rayla ending the argument by choosing the former decision, leading to Team Zym to go meet Akiyu, who, while initially reluctant to tell them about the location of Aaravos' prison due to a promise she made in the past, decided to tell them that the location of Aaravos' prison at the Sea of the Castout and giving Callum an amulet that made them capable of breathing underwater.
They would then wait for Zubeia so she could get the to the Sea of the Castout, but due to Zubeia not being able to leave the Storm Spire because of a wound from a corrupted banther biting her, Rayla decided to go to the town of Scumport to get a boat to get to the location of Aaravos' prison since Zubeia wouldn't come.
There, they found Captain Villads, a former pirate who helped Team Zym in the past, who decided to helped them to the Sea of the Castout, while also freeing a trio of baby glow toads from the pirate lord of Scumport Finnegrin, which resulted in Finnegrin going after them, and while they made multiple attempts to escape, Finnegrin was able to capture Team Zym and their allies. However, they were able to free themselves after Soren was able to convince Finnegrin's bodyguard Elmer to stand up to Finnegrin.
Villads would then bring the crew to the Sea of the Castout, where they would go underwater to get the pearl where Aaravos was imprisoned in and fight Claudia, whom Rayla help in cutting off her leg so they could free themselves, with Callum forcing Claudia to go back to the surface to breathe by opening Claudia's potion vial and causing the potion to disapate into the water, turning Claudia back to normal. The crew would then get the pearl where Aaravos was imprisoned in before going back to their boat.
After this, Team Zym returned to Katolis and explained what had happened to Opeli and Barius, as well as showing them Aaravos' pearl, with them then making suggestions on what to do with the pearl, but after some discussion, Ezran decided that it would be better to keep the pearl hidden in Katolis. That evening, Stella found out that Callum was alone in the castle's walls, and told Rayla about it.
Callum would later make a plan to go to the Star Scraper so they could find the Celestial Elves and discover a way to destroy the pearl, with Rayla going along with him. While traveling to the Star Scraper, they end up on a frozen ship called the Ray of Illumination, where Rayla finds the diary of its captain Esmeralda Skall, which described the captain's regrets over putting a live of adventure above the one she loved, and ended up dying with them.
After reading them, Callum and Rayla would decide to sleep in the ship as it was already dusk, and after Callum was convinced to share a sleeping bag with Rayla, Stella and Sneezles tried to help the two get closer together by putting their hands on one another. They wake up and nearly kiss, only for Callum to not do it and explain he did dark magic to save Rayla from Finnegrin. Rayla then told Callum to choose to sacrifice her to do the greater good if it came to it, before they left the ship as it was beginning to break apart.
After this, Callum asks Rayla to kill him if he ever gets possessed by Aaravos again, with her reluctantly agreeing. Arriving at the Star Scraper, they are able to meet the Celestial Elves by activating the runes on the elevator there. They are met by its Elder, who asks if they are the Chosen Two, with Callum saying that they aren't. This leads to the Elder deactivating the elevator, causing Callum and Rayla to fall off the scraper.
However, Callum was able to reactive it, but as it was reactivating, the pearl began to fall, so Stella tried to grab it only to fall as well. Before she hit the ground, though, she was saved by Astrid, with her and her brother Kosmos then trying to bring them to a room so they could rest before they would leave in the morning. While doing so, however, the two elves note the similarities between them and the Chosen Two from the prophecy, leading them to go meet the Elder.
There, Callum asks the Elder if they had the Novablade so they could use it to kill Aaravos. The Elder explains how the blade was given to a human warrior centuries ago, but they would still be incapable of killing a Startouch Elf even if they had it, as the Novablade would only destroy the Startouch Elves' physical form, and bring them back to the heavens where they would wait until they could remake their bodies.
While Callum comes to believe they came there for nothing, Kosmo explains that they didn't as the duo could still stop the creature that was causing a storm near the Star Scraper and thus having prevented the Celestial Elves from taking off their blindfolds for centuries. That night, Callum convinces Rayla to stay and try to face the creature, with him also suggesting using the same magic runes that made him able to resist Finnegrin's ice spell.
The next morning, they would go and face the beast, but as Rayla was about to carve the runes on its body, she finds out the creature is Esmeray, the pet of the late Luna Tenebris, and that it was causing the storms out of grief over its master's death. Rayla decides to calm it down by singing a lullaby, and after doing so, they return to the Star Scraper. There, the Elder thanks Callum and Rayla for what they did and gives them the Corona of the Heavens, a crown that contained the three Quasar Diamonds that would allow Rayla to free her loved ones from the cursed coins.
After this, the Celestial Elves would go to the top of the scraper and take off their blindfolds, with Kosmo becoming timeblind and able to see the future. During this, Kosmo reveals to Callum that his future is filled with darkness, before getting knocked unconscious from the horror of the future he saw. The next morning, Callum and Rayla decide to give the Elder Aaravos' pearl, with the Elder agreeing, while Kosmo omitted the truth that the pearl was a fake and the real one was still in Katolis as he found out doing so would cause Callum to lose his confidence and make him unable to do a ritual that would prevent Aaravos from possessing him.
Later, they convinced Callum to do the ritual, which he did by accepting Rayla as his one truth amongst the stars. The two would then replay the moment of Rayla's return after two years, with them ending up kissing. They would later go to the Moon Nexus and meet Lujanne so she could help in getting Rayla to the realm between life and death so she could free her loved ones' souls.
However, Lujanne revealed that one of the quasar diamonds was fake, and that she could only bring back two of her loved ones. Inside the realm between life and death, Rayla decides to allow her parents to go to the afterlife after seeing how happy they are together, while also saving Runaan and freeing him from his cursed coin. Callum then finds out that the castle of Katolis was destroyed by Sol Regem.
Personality[]
Stella is a playful, mischievous, and is loyal to Rayla, being willing to protect her friends and stand up for them when they are either in danger or getting hurt by others. Stella also likes to mimic Rayla's expressions and enjoys getting shiny and colorful objects for herself, as seen when she decided to grab several gems from a cave in Umber Tor. While she was initially aggressive towards Callum after he lashed out at Rayla for leaving him for two years, she would come around and even help in trying to get the two to rekindle their bond.
