Stirling Conly, otherwise simply known as Stirling, is the deuteragonist, later main antagonist, of Portal Revolution, a prequel to Portal 2. He serves as the test subject's guide throughout most of the game to complete test chambers, obtain the portal devices and restore the facility to its former glory state. He is the son of Emilia Conly.
Personality[]
Stirling initially appears to be a strict supervisor who expects the test subject to attend an Aperture Science Human Emergency Response Team to help save the facility from becoming ruined or shut down completely. However, he later drops this story and reveals himself to be a maintenance sphere who kindly wants assistance to fix the facility after Chell destroyed it.
Throughout the game, he is shown to be a respectful individual towards the test subject and seems to care about their well-being. Stirling also tends to be quick to assume bad things whenever he and the test subject are separated or take detours in their mission.
However, after the test subject returns with Emilia and they planned to shut down the Spire, Stirling felt betrayed and disappointed to see the test subject turn against him, making Stirling attempt to kill them both as they escape and proceed to shut down the machine, much to Stirling's dismay.
