Biography[]
Quantum of Solace[]
Fields is assigned the task of stopping rogue MI-6 agent James Bond, who is arriving in Bolivia with René Mathis, and taking him to London to face likely dismissal from service for his unapproved efforts to stop terrorist Dominic Greene from staging a coup in Bolivia. While she waits for Bond and Mathis at the La Paz airport, she immediately orders him to give himself up, but Bond dismisses her. Irritated by Bond's sarcasm, Fields threatens to leave him locked up in jail until the next morning to return to London on the first flight, Bond finally agrees, but still tells her they still have "all night".
Fields, Bond and Mathis take a taxi to a cheap hostel, where Fields informs Bond and Mathis that they are undercover as teachers on a gap year. Upon arriving Bond tells Fields to stay in the cab, after which Bond checks the three in at the Andean Grand Hotel, a five-star resort in the center of Bolivia's city. She and Bond are put in the same room, where he seduces her that night.
She regrets sleeping with Bond immediately, so Bond tries to cheer her up by inviting her to a fundraising party for Greene's front company, Greene Planet, to which both he and Mathis have been invited.,Fields agrees, but she has nothing to wear, Bond tells her it's okay and they go back to bed to have sex again.
When they go to the party, Fields and Bond listen to Greene's speech and are introduced to Colonel Carlos, the Bolivian police chief, who is secretly a double agent working for the corrupt General Medrano.
Noticing the growing tensions between Bond, Greene, and the latter's former lover Camille Montes, she intervenes just as Greene's henchman Elvis is about to kill them by tripping him down the stairs. Bond and Camille escape, but Greene realizes who she works for an decides to kill her.
Shortly after leaving the party, Fields realizes she is being followed by Greene's henchmen. She leaves a note at the hotel reception for Bond saying "Run!". Soon afterward, M discovers Fields' naked body covered in oil on the hotel bed, having been literally drowned in oil. After M shows Bond what happened to Fields, he tells her to commend Fields' "true bravery" in her report.
By the end of the film, everyone who played a part in Fields' murder is dead - Greene is shot dead by Spectre agents; Camille kills Medrano; and Elvis is killed when Bond and Camille blow up the hotel where Greene is hiding out.
Trivia[]
- Agent Fields' first name, a reference to the Beatles sing "Strawberry Fields Forever", is never mentioned in the film
- Strawberry's death is an homage to Jill Masterson's death in Goldfinger; but instead of gold paint, she is covered in crude oil.
