Su Duncan is the deuteragonist of the Cradle 2 the Grave film. He's played by Jet Li, who also played Liu Jian from Kiss of the Dragon.
Biography[]
Su is a Taiwanese intelligence operative. He is looking for a criminal named Ling. One day he comes across a thief named Anthony Faith. He tries to apprehend his accomplice Miles and takes his share of the stolen diamonds. However, there should be some black diamonds there, but they are not there. Later, Su contacts Fait again and helps him fight off Ling's henchmen. At this time, Faith receives a call from Ling. Ling has kidnapped Fait's eight-year-old daughter Vanessa and demands black diamonds. Su decides to help Feit and take the black diamonds for himself. One of Faith's accomplices, Archie, reports that he was robbed by the men of local crime boss Chambers. Su and Fait visit him. Chambers didn't listen to them. Then Faith sneaks into his club, where she is caught by the police. Archie and Su go to an underground fighting club, where Su defeats all the fighters, and Archie earns a lot of money from this and finds the one who robbed him. It turns out that the sought-after stones were still in that club, but Su and Fait, who had escaped from the police, discover a bunch of corpses there and only one black diamond. This means that Ling was there before them. At this time, Vanessa calls Fait and tries to explain where she is being held. Su realizes that this is a private airport and that Ling wants to sell these stones (which are compressed plutonium) as nuclear weapons. Su and Fait with his friends go there and fight Ling and his gang. Faith saves Vanessa, and Su kills Ling and takes the stones. Everyone got what they wanted. Feit and his accomplices want to stop being criminals and ask Su to negotiate with the police. He does it.
Personality[]
Su is shown to be a good cop as he is ready to risk his life to do what he does. He is also shown to be honorable, as he promises to deal with local police to prevent Anthony and his gang to be responsible for what they did during their adventure and while he did act somewhat antagonistically towards them at the beginning of the film, it's solely because he's a cop and Anthony and his gang are criminals.
