Bi-Han, better known as Sub-Zero is a minor character in Mortal Kombat 1. He is an alternative, more heroic version, of Bi-Han/Sub-Zero who is part of the Union of Light.
Sub-Zero can be selected as the Final Warrior of Mortal Kombat 1's story mode. This Sub-Zero fights his way to the top of the Pyramid, facing various determinant opponents in one round fights. As well as this, Sub-Zero also takes on various scripted opponents, such as an evil Sonya/Kano fusion, and is assisted against a Goro wielding Wrath Hammers by a group of Johnny Cage variants. When faced with a group of Dark Kombat Kids, Sub-Zero is aided by Titan Kitana, and battles a Dark Raiden/Kung Lao fusion who is killed by being set alight.
When he had a clear shot at the Titan Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, Sub-Zero was thrown back down by their magical blast, and was immediately ambushed by a group of Dark Mileenas, and managed to kill them with their own Sais, was pinned down by a fourth. After a struggle, Sub-Zero was forced to defend himself by stabbing Dark Mileena in the eyes with her own Sais. Together with Liu Kang, he confronts the Titan versions of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi atop the Pyramid. Sub-Zero managed to defeat the Deadly Alliance, and Liu Kang erased them. Sub-Zero was sent back to his own timeline when Shang Tsung's Era began collapsing without him.
Personality[]
Unlike the original version, he is a righteous killer and somewhat of pacifist, he is more affable and a nicer person and loyal to Liu Kang.

Trivia[]
This version of Sub-Zero takes the place of the main Bi-Han due to his corruption earlier in the story mode.
Given how in Kuai Liang Sub-Zero's MK11 ending, he created a timeline where Bi-Han never became evil and acted as a joint Grandmaster, some have theorized that the heroic Bi-Han of MK1's final chapter is this particular version of him.
