Sugarcoat is best known as a cynical and sarcastic girl who does not hesitate to tell what she thinks of others, especially Twilight Sparkle. This also depends on her name which means what she is.
Like her mates she is completely competitive, arrogant and determined to succeed, she can also use any means to win, such as when she talks to Twilight that her magic will help her win the Friendship Games if she steals her.
When Twilight transforms into the monstrous Midnight Sparkle, she feels guilty about what she did and rushes with her companions to rescue the dying Canterlot High boys.

Sugarcoat is first seen on the bus that takes Crystal Preps students to Canterlot High for the Friendship Game. After Twilight gives a slightly awkward speech to her classmates and sits down next to her, Sugarcoat criticizes her for her speech.
In games on the Shadowbolts team, they copy with Indigo Zap in the competition to build birdhouses, build a two-story and win and mock Sandalwood and Micro Chips for their failure, however, they write by mistake. " cymotrichous "in the spelling contest.

Sugarcoat is last seen returning with her friends to Crystal Preps with Dean Cadance as the new principal.
Dance Magic[]
Sugarcoat appears alongside Sour Sweet, Lemon Zest and Sunny Flare In the half-hour special Dance Magic, who steal the idea from Rarity for the dance competition in a music video. Following a truce between the two teams, they join together after an apology between them and together they win the prize.
