Since childhood, she was raised by her parents to view Tang Jingze's family as rivals, given their families' historical animosity dating back to the founding of Huaxiu. Despite this upbringing, she didn't harbor genuine hatred toward Tang Jingze in her early years.
Confident and competitive, she was once adored by everyone at school, which led to a somewhat arrogant demeanor. She enjoyed being praised and admired, often going to great lengths to impress her classmates, driven by a desire for their affection.
Initially irritated by Wang Ling's difference from other students, she attempted to win him over. However, realizing her usual tactics were ineffective, she became genuinely interested in him and his reserved nature.
Despite being born into one of Huaxiu's most powerful families, she has shown a willingness to start anew with her family, displaying a strong work ethic and determination often described as a "worker bee spirit."
Her passion and charisma have earned her the reputation of being the most remarkable student at 60th High. She also harbors romantic feelings for Wang Ling.
History[]
Born on May 27, 4380, her life seemed destined for rivalry with Tang Jingze, their relationship marked by intense dispute since childhood.
As a descendant of the Monkey King, she possesses an enormous innate spiritual energy, showing good control but constantly striving to perfect it. The Sun family, custodians of the legendary golden club of Sun Wukong, used traces of its material to craft Sun Rong's Spirit Sword, named Ocean. Although her family created backup swords, she chose to wield them all simultaneously as part of her unique combat style. Sun Rong's exceptional skill in wielding a spiritual sword is evident as her sword, Ocean, can take human form, a rare feat achieved when she was just a child. As all spirit swords assume the wielder's desired form, Ocean took the shape of a magical girl.
Entering the cultivation preparatory school reunited her with Tang Jingze, revealing his petty nature and desire for admiration from other girls. Despite being recommended for 59th High due to her exceptional potential, she declined, unwilling to study alongside Tang Jingze.
At 60th High, she initially presented herself as an idol but became more reserved after meeting Wang Ling, focusing on her new friendships. She even took Wang Ling to a theme park built by her grandfather for their first date.
She participated in the 4396th edition of the annual spirit sword competition and passed the test of spiritual power, demonstrating intermediate-level prowess, allowing her to remain in the elite class. During the test, a mishap caused by Wang Ling resulted in a system malfunction known as the doom breaking system malfunction.
Following the Sun family's financial collapse orchestrated by Richman and the Tang family, she faced a forced marriage with Tang Jingze to save her family. Despite her initial resignation, the wedding was halted, and the Sun family's fortunes were restored, thanks to the intervention of the seven-star squad.
She was among the participants in the spiritual sword arts conference, where she inadvertently placed nearly all people under the effect of a control technique, later broken with Wang Ling's help.
During a mysterious event involving Jingke and Ocean, she and her friends confronted a swordswoman wreaking havoc in the city. They also traveled to Sunland to confront Yoshiko Kyuumiya about her missing family's Golden Staff and fought demons in the city, demonstrating her willingness to protect others, even beyond her homeland.
