Sunny Starscout is a female orange Earth pony who is the main protagonist of the fifth generation of the My Little Pony franchise, a direct continuation of the fourth generation. She is the daughter of Argyle Starshine and her unnamed mother.
She is voiced by Vanessa Hudgens, who also portrayed Gabriella Montez in High School Musical, Kailani Laguatan in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Blondie in Sucker Punch, and Kelly in the Bad Boys films in the 2021 Netflix movie My Little Pony: A New Generation while being voiced by Jenna Warren, who also voiced the singing voice of Rosie Fuentes in Rosie's Rules, Frankie Pamplemousse in The ZhuZhus and Carly in Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go, in both the 2022 YouTube Tell Your Tale and Netflix tv series Make Your Mark and its specials.
Appearance[]
Sunny is a thin, apricot-orange-coated Earth pony, having her fetlocks colored in a paler shade and the insides of her ears being colored in a shade of coral. She possesses emerald-green eyes, small yet fluttery-like lashes, thin magenta eyebrows, dark coral hooves, as well as having a silky, magenta-pink and purple mane and tail. Originally, her mane was kept in a side braid with two, elastic aquamarine-colored hair ties. As for her cutie mark, it consists of a pink star with a blue trail, with two smaller stars on the anterior side of the large one.
After getting her Alicorn powers, Sunny gains the ability to sport a long, glowing, golden holographic-like horn with a pair of large, feathered-wings to match. In addition, she now wore her mane in a loose, swirl-like hairstyle at the bottom, with rainbow-colored streaks.
While she does not wearing any clothing, Sunny's only accessory is that of a teal sachet, which features Twilight Sparkle's embossed cutie mark on one side. Its strap features pins of Twilight, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's cutie marks on it.
In Tell Your Tale, Sunny's appearance has noticeable changes; her hooves are colored like her mane and tail, her fetlocks do not appear in her coat, and while her hair is now loose, it is kept in a low-loose ponytail with the same elastic worn in her original hairstyle.

She is an adventurous, idealistic, and optimistic pony who likes roller skating and wants all pony kinds to get along.
Biography[]
As a child, Sunny Starscout's father told her of a time where the Unicorns, the Earth Ponies, and the Pegasi all lived together in a state of harmony. Since then, she was enamored with the idea of reuniting the three races, as she believed that Unicorns and Pegasi didn't have to be dangerous unlike the rest of the setting, not only despite but because of the fact that nobody in her town has ever truly seen unicorns and Pegasi. As a result, she made a crude drawing showing the races in harmony and sent it off in a lantern with her father, which would later be revealed to land in the hooves of Izzy Moonbow.
During the present day, Sunny is shown to be doing her best to share her ideals of unity with her hometown of Maretime Bay, despite all forms of pushback, especially from police horse and best friend Hitch Trailblazer. It is at this time she meets Izzy herself, a unicorn who arrived at Maritime Bay to meet Sunny. Knowing the other earth ponies fell to fearmongering around unicorns, Sunny went out of her way to keep her safe and gave her shelter in her own home. After some bonding, they set out on an adventure to at least begin to break down the lies each race has made up for each other.

After finally restoring friendship and magic throughout Equestria, Sunny became an alicorn as the three pony kinds reunite together again, beginning a new age of Equestrsia.

Trivia[]
- Sunny's alicorn transformation form was shown in the merchandise before the movie was released. In fact, there had been several hints in film of her alicorn transformation being foreshadowed.
