~ Super Joe to Rad after the latter manages to escape the exploding Albatross battleship.

Super Joe is the secondary protagonist of the Bionic Commando game boy game.

Appearance[]

Super Joe has-light colored hair, a scar on his left eye, a short beard, and dons armor.

Biography[]

Super Joe was sent to the Doraize Dukedom by the Federal States for the investigation of the Albatross project, but contact was lost with him. This prompted the Bionic Commandos and their special F.F. Corps to carry out order to have his mission in his absence. A soldier in Area 2, a neutral zone, even wondered what happened.

When Rad wiretaps in Area 4, General Rile calls Super Joe a good fighter as he kidnaps him. Later Rad learns that by the time he reached Area 8 that Joe was taken to a different location. Rile also wanted to see if Rad did better than Joe. In Area 9, Rad learns of a man looking like Joe heading for Area 10. However, this turns out to be a trap to capture Rad.

Soon, Rad discovers that Joe was taken to Area 13. After fighting his way through, Rad fights Rile again in order to free him. Joe explains that the Albatross is a floating fortress intended to help conquer the world and Destroyer was keeping weapons for the federation.

Joe had also told Destroyer of a new receiver in Area 15. When Rad contacts him in Area 16, Joe instructs him to destroy the Albatross before it takes off. Rad fails to reach it before it flies off. Afterwards, the head of the Federal Army orders Rad and Joe to stop the Albatross by destroying the power station.

When they land, Joe sets off to destroy the bridge while Rad destroys the power station. After Rad destroys the actual Albatross robot, he meets up with Joe who destroyed the bridge, but Wiseman is getting away. With little time to lose, Joe gives Rad a S-APDS gun in order to kill Wiseman in order stop him from escaping.

Rad and Joe catch the helicopter after managing to escape the fortress before it explodes. With Wiseman dead, the Doraize Dukedom begins to crumble. Rad and Joe clutch hands as they continue to fight in the name of peace.

Trivia[]

  • Due to a number of differences between the NES and Game Boy version Bionic Commando, it is uncertain if this Super Joe is actually Joseph Gibson from other games in the Bionic Commando series.
