Susan Hoffman is a character from the Marvel UK Transformers comics. She was created by Simon Furman and Geoff Senior.
Biography[]
Introduced in the Transformers/Action Force crossover "Ancient Relics", Susan was a well-travelled archaeologist. She led a party exploring old Roman tunnels beneath London but the group were attacked by Megatron, with Susan as the only survivor. She summoned a party from Action Force led by Flint to investigate and they encountered the Autobot Blades. After a brief exchange of fire, Susan realised he wasn't the robot she encountered before, just before Megatron attacked again. Susan disappeared from the storyline after Action Force ran into Autobot leader Grimlock, presumably sheltering from the battle.
Susan reappeared in "Ladies' Night", where she investigated a volcanic eruption and discovered Ultra Magnus and Galvatron buried in the lava. Shortly after she was interviewed by reporter Joy Meadows, Soundwave and the Combaticons attacked and took care of the military guarding the volcano. Susan, Joy and Cindy Newell found Goldbug and Rollbar hiding nearby but, on learning the Decepticons intended to destroy Galvatron, the Autobots were happy to let them do it, even if it meant sacrificing Ultra Magnus. Not wanting to see her discovery destroyed, Susan agreed to help Cindy and Joy mount a defence, taking out Swindle with a commandeered tank. They tried to take out the remaining Combaticons with a jeep full of explosives but Susan was injured in the blast and nearly killed by Onslaught, only saved when the Throttlebots returned and drove the Decepticons away.
Susan's last appearance was in "Race with the Devil". Leading a party through the South American forest in search of the lost Juluth tribe, she encountered in quick succession the Triggerbots, the Decepticon-affiliated Nebulans Throttle and Hi-Test, and finally a zombified Starscream, animated by the energy of the Underbase. Susan and her assistants managed to evade the battle only to be captured by the Juluths, who considered Starscream their death god and planned to sacrifice the strangers to him. Susan escaped and enlisted the help of Override to drive off the Juluth and save her friends. When Backstreet lamented the fact that Dreadwind and Darkwing had escaped with Starscream's remains, Susan assured him that the Autobots had done good in saving them.
