Sweet Pea is a Budgie parakeet that appears as a supporting character of the movie The Secret Life of Pets and in The Secret Life of Pets 2.
He is voiced by Tara Strong, who also voiced Ben Tennyson, Omi, Raven and 2013 version.
Appearance[]
Sweet Pea's head is yellow and other body parts green. She has a bit of blue on her tail feathers. She has a small orange beak, orange feet, and green eyes.
Personality[]
She likes hanging around with the other pets, even with Chloe, who tried to eat her once.
Biography[]
The Secret Life of Pets[]
Sweetpea is one of the neighbours of Max. After her owner leaves, she opens her cage, activates a fan and television, and flies with jet planes in a console game. Later, she appears in Max's Apartment and fools Chloe by a laser projector.
After Max and Duke are gone, Gidget gathers her neighbours for discussing what they can do, including Sweet Pea. She pecks a glass bowl Chloe is at, by the time she is seemingly indifferent to Max's missing. Tiberius' sudden appearance horrifies all pets except Gidget, and Sweet Pea hides behind a bottle of air freshener and then Chloe's bowl after Mel hits the table with fear. At last, Sweetpea agrees to join her neighbours to find Max.
Pops brings the pets to a cherry picker outside a building; Chloe is too clumsy to jump down, so Sweet Pea pecks her hanging feet. In the way to the sewer, Tiberius catches one of the pigeons, who carry the pets to another apartment; Sweet Pea chirps at Tiberius, so he lets the pigeon go. Later, Gidget encourages her neighbours after they are almost caught by The Flushed Pets, claiming that they are "dogs". Chloe says "cat", Tiberius says "hawk" and Sweetpea chirps, so Gidget says they are all dogs for that day.
She is seen flying with Tiberius on the Brooklyn Bridge and sitting with Gidget and watches Snowball jump in the ocean to save Max and Duke. At the end of the movie, she finally goes back to her apartment to greet her owner, who is a seemingly hardcore guy with who despite his appearance, cares very much about Sweetpea and birds.

- Sweetpea’s voice actress, Tara Strong also voices Timmy Turner in the Nickelodeon show The Fairly Oddparents, Dil Pickles in the Nickelodeon show Rugrats, Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls, and most recently Twilight Sparkle in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
- Originally Sweet Pea was going to speak, and the crew imagined she had the voice of Ving Rhames.
- Sweet Pea is more intended to represent a parrot. Unlike real-world parakeets however, her feet are anisodactyl (three in front, one in back), rather than zygodactyl (two in front, two in back).
- According to Chloe, she once wanted to eat Sweet Pea but was stopped by Max.
- Sweet Pea was the first pet to notice Tiberius' appearance in Gidget's Apartment, before Mel shouts in horror.
- At Pops' Apartment during a party, there is a bird that uses the same model as Sweetpea, but recolored in which it remains blue (as the picture at the right shown).
