Hero Overview

Taichi "Tai" Yagami is the main protagonist of reboot anime, Digimon Adventure:.

He is voiced by Yūko Sanpei in the Japanese version.

He look like his original counterpart. Unlike original Tai, he wears new clothes similar to original.

While preparing for the upcoming school camp, he is visited by a neighbor, Koshiro Izumi when they learn that electronic systems across Tokyo had gone haywire, including the city's trains where Taichi's mother and his sister Hikari are trapped in. The two run to the nearby station where Taichi is suddenly transported to another world located inside the internet. There he finds a small, wounded Digimon called Koromon and when they make contact, Taichi gains a Digivice and Koromon evolves into Agumon.

Koshiro contacts Taichi and informs him that a horde of enemy Digimon (Argomon In-Training) are responsible for the turmoil in the city, and he fights with Agumon to stop them and rescue his family. Just as they are about the defeat all the Argomon, the last one evolves to Rookie and then Champion but both Taichi and Agumon refuse to give in, which triggers Agumon's evolution into Greymon. Greymon defeats the Champion level Argomon and the trains stops just before colliding. Koshiro informs Taichi that more Argomon have taken control of United States Military's network systems, threatening the whole world, when he sees Yamato riding Garurumon atop a huge tower.

After Yamato & Garurumon joins Taichi and Koshiro on their mission to stop the Argomon hacking into the U.S. military. On their way there, they learn the Argomon hijacked an American nuclear submarine which is about to launch a nuclear missile. Yamato then comes with an idea to defeat the leading Argomon which would endanger Greymon and Garurumon, but Taichi convinces him to proceed as their Digimon launch point blank attacks at the Argomon leader. But the Argomon leader survives and digivolves into its Mega form as the missile is launched. Koshiro informs them that the missile is targeting Tokyo, and when Taichi and Yamato refuse to give up, their Digimon partners suddenly DNA digivolve into Omnimon.

Taichi and Yamato fight against the Argomon to stop threat of a nuclear missile launch against Tokyo, only for their Digimon partners to be overpowered by the Argomon leader in its Mega form, Omnimon, who defeats Argomon and redirects the missile away from Tokyo.

Taichi and Yamato return to their world soon after, with the former befriending Koshiro. Taichi and Koushiro later reach summer camp where they meet the former's childhood friend Sora Takenouchi, discussing the apparent symbiosis between their world's technology and the Digital World. Furthermore, Koshiro estimated that Tokyo's urban functions will cease if the power outages in Tokyo continue for the next 72 hours. Taichi, believing that they need to enter the Digital World to prevent that, suddenly finds himself transported there and reunites with Agumon.
