Taiju Oki is one of the main characters in the manga and anime series Dr. Stone, serving as the deuteragonist of the Prologue Arc, comprised of the Stone Formula Arc and Vs. Tsukasa Arc.
Taiju was a childhood friend of Senku Ishigami and Yuzuriha Ogawa, the latter of which he had a crush on for five years. On June 3rd 2019, the day Taiju resolved to confess his feelings to Yuzuriha, the whole world's human and swallow population were completely petrified. Over the next three thousand years, the remnants of human society completely deteriorated until the only proof of human existence was the eerie statues left behind.
On October 5th 5738, Taiju was finally released from his petrification. After stumbling around for awhile, Taiju came across Senku, who had revived half a year before him. Together, the pair developed a formula that could undo the petrification after painstaking trial and error. With this solution, Senku and Taiju resolved to restore every petrified human and re-establish society using the ways of science.
In the anime adaption of Dr. Stone, Taiju Oki is voiced by Makoto Furukawa in the Japanese version and by Ricco Fajardo in the English version. Furukawa has also voiced Saitama in One-Punch Man, Yūjin Ōzora in Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters, Achilles in Fate/Apocrypha, and Hatsuharu Sohma in Fruits Basket. Fajardo has also voiced Mirio Togata in My Hero Academia, Kyosuke Munakata in Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy, and Nozel Silva in Black Clover.
As a child, he is voiced by Mutsumi Tamura in the Japanese version, and by Emily Fajardo in the English version.

Taiju is a muscular teenager. He has spiky brown hair.
Personality[]
Taiju is enthusiastic and kind person. He is willing to help anyone. He is also gullible, believing in lies and saying the first thing that comes to mind, even if it needs to be kept secret. Despite his lack of intelligence, he has strong mental fortitude, maintaining his consciousness to see his friends and loved ones again.
Taiju is a pacifist. He will never throw a punch, even if he is being beaten. Taiju has blocked a kick from Tsukasa, the strongest man in the Stone World and was rendered only briefly unconscious. He also withstood a barrage of punches from Nikki, a judo expert in an attempt to negotiate a rebellion within the Empire of Might.
Abilities[]
- Stamina: Taiju has incredible endurance, having a seemingly endless amount stamina. Even Magma and Yo cannot defeat him in Stamina.
- Endurance: Taiju is very durable, even able to stand after taking Tsukasa's kicks.
Relationships[]
- Senku Ishigami: Taiju and Senku are childhood friends. While never understanding Senku in depth, Taiju will always obey Senku unless it goes against his own morales.
Trivia[]
- Taiju is actually has higher intelligence than Magma and Yo, due to being capable of remembering and utilizing scientific knowledge Senku tells them; having used powdered seashells as fertilizer in their farming experiments.
- Taiju is often the muscle to Senku's brains, which had been parodied online by fans; Taiju is given a voice that sounds like Kronk.
