Tailgate is an Autobot scout and is one of the minibots at the Ark in 2006. He transforms into a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am sports car. Tailgate and the other Autobots on duty rolled out to defend the Ark with all the firepower at their disposal.
History
Season 3
Tailgate was only seen in Five Faces of Darkness, as one of a group of Minibots stationed at the Ark. When the Constructicons built Trypticon, he targeted Mount St. Hilary and the Ark. Tailgate and the other Autobots defended the Ark with all the firepower at their disposal. However, the Ark was left devastated in Trypticon's wake, and Tailgate's troops were beaten and scattered.

Personality
Tailgate sometimes has his mind stuck in low gear, believes 55 mph speed limit is infringement on rights of cars. Likewise, he is unable to comprehend the difference between a non-living Earth machine and sentient robotic life such as himself.
Abilities
Tailgate can transform into the car. In his car mode, he goes 180 mph, range 600 miles. In his robot mode, he uses ferrocobalt magnet under hood to be pulled by and within a few feet of other vehicles, reducing his fuel use to near zero.
