~ Tails after witnessing Sonic jump off an airship. |
Tails is the deuteragonist of the short-lived Sonic Adventures comic by Sirène. He is an anthropomorphic two-tailed fox and Sonic the Hedgehog's best friend. Together, the two fight Dr. Robotnik's forces to prevent them from conquering planet Mobius.
Biography[]
For an unknown amount of time, Sonic and Tails worked together to battle Robotnik's robot forces.
One day, Sonic got captured by Badniks with the Magical Emeralds, and Tails snuck onboard the airship they took him too. When Sonic broke out of restraints and jumped to the surface of Mobius, Tails, shocked by such insanity, also jumped down and caught the hedgehog mid-air. The two escaped pursuit, before the river took them to a lost city of ancient Echidnas. Though they tried to fight off the Echidnas, they still captured the two, and their leader, Princess Alucion, attempted to kill them in a volcano. The execution was interrupted by Robotnik's attack, allowing the two to escape. When Sonic fought Robotnik to rescue Amy, who he held hostage, the two fell into a volcano. Believing his friends to have died, Tails swore to avenge them and returned to Green Hill, where he told other animals of Sonic's demise. Suddenly, Sonic and Amy materialized behind him. It turned out the two had survived, and Sonic acquired the Golden Armor by passing the Echidnas' challenge, allowing him to resume the fight against Robotnik.
Personality[]
Like most of his versions, Tails is Sonic's loyal sidekick, always ready to help him and his other friends out. He also doesn't handle the loss of close ones easily, swearing vengeance against Robotnik for supposedly killing Sonic.
Trivia[]
- When Tails talks, he sometimes replaces "s" and "c" sounds with "f"'s, which isn't reflected in the comic's best-known unofficial English translation.
- This is one of the few versions of Tails to never be identified as "Miles Prower", leaving it unknown if "Tails" is his real name or nickname.
- In contrast to some other notable European Sonic the Hedgehog works of the time, such as Sonic the Comic, where Sonic and Tails had a rather vitriolic relationship, this version of him seems to be on much more amicable terms with his friend.
