Takashi Komuro is the main protagonist and narrator of the anime/manga series Highschool of the Dead. He is a high school second-year and the leader of the main group of survivors from Fujimi Academy, as well as a childhood friend of both and Rei Miyamoto and Saya Takagi. He has strong feelings of love for Rei and also shows a level of attraction to Saeko Busujima. Takashi is not a skilled fighter (at least not when compared to Rei, Saeko, or Kohta Hirano) and his intelligence pales in comparison to Saya's, but, as pointed out by Rei, he makes up for this with his leadership skills.

He is voiced by Junichi Suwabe in the Japanese version of the anime, who voiced Eraser Head (Shouta Aizawa) from My Hero Academia franchise, Freed (or Fried) Justine from Fairy Tail and Sirzechs Lucifer from High School DxD, and Leraldo Anzaldua in the English version.

Bio[]

Takashi is a young man who is among the first to notice that things at his high school have gone very wrong. While he and Rei promised to marry each other, it's been several years, and with his apparent growing disinterest in her, she is now involved with his best friend, Hisashi. Things only get more complicated between the two as "they" spread, and Hisashi became one of "them", forcing him to kill his best friend.

Takashi quickly takes a leadership role with a group of surviving students, through his decisive nature and desire to protect his friends. During this, he starts dating Rei.

History[]

Takashi is a 17-year-old second-year student of Fujimi High School. He and Rei are childhood friends and also in the same class. When they were children, Rei and Takashi made a promise to get married someday, but because of his indecisiveness, Rei started dating his friend, Hisashi. At the beginning of the series, when he notices the zombies attack the teachers at the front gate he rushes to Rei's side. When Hisashi turns into a zombie, Takashi kills Hisashi with a blow to the head causing Rei to accuse Takashi of jealousy. Takashi proceeds to leave admitting to her accusation in his thoughts, but Rei holds him back and apologizes; he responds with a hug.

Although he is not a model student and had to repeat a grade, Takashi shows his resolve to protect his friends and is appointed the leader of the group by his peers. After fighting their way out of school with a baseball bat, Takashi recovers a Smith & Wesson Model 37 pistol from a dead cop, and later uses an Ithaca M37 riot shotgun. When the group visits a police station, he upgrades to a Benelli M4 Super 90 combat shotgun. Although he does not officially have a license, Takashi rides a motorcycle and he also drives an Argo ATV.

Weapons & Equipment[]

As a human fighter with no real combat training, Takashi is dependent on weapons to survive against the zombies. Kohta has educated him on the function and use of many guns.
