Takeshi Hongo is the main protagonist of the 2000s duology remake of Kamen Rider, beginning with 2005 Kamen Rider: The First and 2007 Kamen Rider: The Next. He was college student who was kidnapped by Shocker to become "Hopper", a cyborg man who is tasked with elminiating their enemies. However, Takeshi will later regain his humanity as he chose to fight for them instead of Shocker's desire.
He is potrayed by Masaya Kikawada, who also potray Master Red in Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger and Taiji Murahoshi in Ultraman Decker.
History[]
The First[]
A promising biochemistry student, Takeshi was kidnapped and chosen to become "Hopper", an advanced type of soldier for the Shocker's army. However, this take a turn as in his very first mission where he is tasked to eliminate a man and his's fiance who once interviewed him.
A twist of fate caused him to reclaim his humanity, but not before tragically taking the life of Katsuhiko's fiance. He becomes regretful and vowed to protect humanity against Shocker as he then become "Kamen Rider", a warrior to fight against the forces of evil. He later comes in contact against another Hopper's designed by Shocker, but managed to redeem him as well to fight for humanity.
Knowing that Katsuhiko is kidnapped by Shocker, Takeshi lead Hayato into forging an attack to Shocker's fortress and rescue her. With the existance of shocker's army now become widely known by the world, Takeshi continues to fight to protect justice as he confess his feelings for Katsuhiko, who repricoated his feelings.

Kamen Rider Zi-O: Final Stage[]
Appears with Remake Showa and the Riders to save Sogo and the others from Another Omajio, and asks the audience to cheer them up with the Amazon Alpha.
Then, Omajio appears as he exits with the Showa remake riders.

Trivia[]
- The character made an actual non-canon cameo in Kamen Rider Kabuto, where he sees the restaurant he plans to diner in is closed, leading to him leaving on his bike.[1]
- Due to the darker nature of the film series, Takeshi's appearance is notably much more refined to fit the tone.
