Talisman, also referred to as Garuda 1, is the main protagonist of the video game Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. He is a Republic of Emmeria Air Force lieutenant who protected his homeland from the Estovakian invaders alongside his wingman Shamrock.

Past[]
Nothing is known about Talisman's life prior to his enlistment in Emmeria air force in 2013. By September 2015, he became a flight leader of the Garuda Team, serving alongside another pilot named Marcus Lampert.
Fires of Liberation[]
On August 30, 2015, Federal Republic of Estovakia invaded the Republic of Emmeria, and Garuda Team scrambled to defend the capital of Gracemeria. Although Talisman managed to down the leader of the enemy's elite Strigon Squadron, Estovakia still captured Gracemeria, and later most of Emmeria. Emmerian forces retreated to the Khesed Island and were only saved from obliteration by Talisman and Shamrock's quick response to an attempted assault by Estovakian bombers. This allowed Emmeria to launch a counter-offensive and recapture many lost territories.
In the last days of war, Shamrock, who was eager to liberate Gracemeria and reunite with his family, unaware that they were already dead, defied an order to retreat and insisted on keeping fighting Strigon Squadron. Talisman had no choice but to join his wingman, and as a result both of them were suspended upon return to base, though suspension was lifted soon after in order to send Garuda Team on a mission to destroy Estovakian WMDs.
Talisman took part in the battle for Gracemeria and shot down the Strigon leader Ilya Pasternak when he made a last stand, seemingly ending the war. During the victory celebration, Talisman learned the terrible truth about his wingman's family and witnessed an Estovakian missile attack on Gracemeria. It turned out that the enemy still had Chandelier, a railgun they planned to destroy Gracemeria with in revenge for their defeat. A number of Emmerian planes, Garuda Team, included, scrambled to destroy the railgun and successfully completed the mission, with Garuda 1 landing the final blow on the weapon.
Upon his return to Emmeria, both Talisman and Shamrock were hailed as national heroes by their people.
